Geely's sales rose sharply in June compared with the same period last year due to clear signs of market recovery. Although it is compared with last year's car market experienced GB switching to the last month of sales "carnival" environment, Geely car sales this year is still higher than the same period last year, it is rare.

According to Geely's latest sales figures, Geely sold 110129 vehicles in June, up about 1% from a month earlier and up about 21% from a year earlier. For cases where the impact of the epidemic is gradually diminishing, it is quite good to be able to recover this data.

Some institutions had expected that due to the impact of the "five-year" switch last year, sales of the domestic passenger car market would grow month-on-month in June, but due to a large base last year, it is expected to decline compared with the same period last year. In terms of specific models, the Dihao family sold 29329 vehicles in June; Boyue sold 20189 vehicles; the dynamic Shuangxian sold 17706 vehicles; the Vision family sold 17647 vehicles; the MPV sold 5830 vehicles; the new energy and electrified models sold 8750 vehicles; and its high-end brand Lecker sold 13214 vehicles in June.

Overall, this is due to Geely's best-selling SUV model, which sold 70167 SUV models in June, accounting for 64% of the total monthly sales, including Geely's launch of the ICON and Hawthorne, both SUV models, in the first half of this year, and become a new growth point in Geely's SUV product matrix, of which the ICON sold 3735 units in June.

According to Geely's sales figures for the first half of this year, Geely's cumulative sales from January to June were about 530000 vehicles, down about 19% from a year earlier. Although only 38% of its 1.41 million sales were completed in the first half of the year, Geely has no plans to adjust its target for this year.

Obviously, it may be a challenge for Geely to meet the remaining 62% sales target. But Geely also missed 50% of its annual sales target in the first half of last year, reaching only 43%. As a result, it exceeded its target for the whole of 2019. Moreover, judging from the two-year sales target, the target achieved in the first half of last year was only 5% higher than that of this year. Under the severe impact of this year's COVID-19 epidemic, Geely's target gap is not much different from that of last year, so if the market recovers strongly in the second half of this year, Geely is also likely to achieve its sales target.

According to KuaiBao, the sales volume of key enterprises counted by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the auto industry is expected to complete 2.28 million vehicles in June, an increase of 11% over the same period last year, which is enough to see that Geely has led the overall market up by far exceeding the level of sales in the industry.

At the same time, judging from Geely's performance in the first half of this year, the cumulative sales of SUV and cars reached 324061 and 197030 respectively. When SUV has increasingly become the main force of market growth, Geely has also realized the switch from cars to SUV. All these signs indicate that Geely is expected to achieve sales growth through some new products and good posture in the second half of this year.

However, with the domestic auto market experiencing a strong rebound in May, the China Automobile Association expects another 11% year-on-year growth in June, meaning that the domestic auto market has rebounded for three months in a row. Consumption affected by the epidemic has been gradually released, and as the auto market will experience another "traditional off-season" in July and August, car companies will face some sales pressure again.
