Another new brand under Geely has been officially launched-Maple Leaf Motor. On July 11, Maple Leaf's first electric car, the Maple Leaf 30X, was announced and sold on the market, with a subsidised price of 6.88-82800 yuan and a NEDC mileage of 306km.

It is worth noting that Maple Leaf, which belongs to Li Shufu's Geely Technology Group Co., Ltd., is actually a new energy brand established by the combination of Huapu Automobile's production qualification and Condi Electric's assets.

The Maple Leaf 30X is based on Geely Vision X3, adding new design elements to the Vision X3 in many details, such as the closed front and middle net with electric car features, and the logo is also changed to Maple Leaf logo. In terms of interior decoration, Maple Leaf 30X basically copied Geely interior design. It is worth noting that all the new cars are not equipped with ESP.

Maple Leaf 30X length, width and height are 4005/1760/1575mm, wheelbase 2480mm, positioning low-level pure electric small SUV.

In the power part, the Maple Leaf 30X is equipped with motors with maximum power 70kW and peak torque of 180N ·m. In terms of range, the car is equipped with a power battery pack with a capacity of 37kWh, and the mileage of the NEDC is 306km.

According to the five-year brand strategic plan released by Maple Leaf, the brand will launch the pure electric SUV Maple Leaf 30X and a MPV model, which is said to be based on Geely Jiaji's all-electric MPV model, in 2020. In the follow-up, Maple Leaf will achieve coverage from A00 to C-class, covering sedan, SUV and MPV.

Geely, which currently owns Geely, Lecker, Geometry, Volvo, Polar Star, Lutes and other car brands, has once again chosen to start a business and build a new brand Maple Leaf based on the resources on hand. Its factory address is also located in the previous production base of Condi Electric cars in Rugao, Jiangsu Province. From the perspective of products and positioning, Maple Leaf is mainly aimed at the low-end electric vehicle market, similar to BYD's e-network products, Great Wall Euler new energy brand and so on.

Geely Holdings has said that Maple Leaf, as a new new energy vehicle brand of Fengsheng Automotive Technology Group, a start-up automotive technology company, is equivalent to a new car-building force and participates in the market competition in the sphere of influence of new cars. Maple Leaf has no equity relationship with Geely, operates independently on the brand, operates independently on the channel, builds its own marketing system, and does not share the dealer network with Geely, Lecker or Geometry.

Geely, which continues to expand to establish a new brand, enters the low-end electric car market through Maple Leaf, and further competes for new energy market share. However, as the sales of new energy vehicles continue to decline, the market demand for low-end electric vehicles has dropped sharply. Under the uncertain market prospect, it remains to be tested whether the Maple Leaf car established by "changing the vest" can have a place in the market.
