On July 15, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other three departments issued a notice on the activities of new energy vehicles to the countryside, a total of 10 car companies and more than a dozen new energy vehicles participated.

According to the document, this activity was initiated by the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Office of Agriculture and Village, the General Office of the Ministry of Commerce, and entrusted to the China Automobile Industry Association to organize and implement it. Local industrial and information technology, agriculture, rural areas, commerce departments to do a good job of cooperation. The main purpose of the activity is to promote the promotion and application of new energy vehicles in rural areas, guide rural residents to upgrade their travel mode, and promote the strategy of rural construction and rural revitalization.

A total of 10 car companies participated in the event, including BAIC New Energy, Great Wall Automobile, Wuling, Chery New Energy, BYD and so on. A total of 16 models were promoted, including BAIC New Energy EC3, Great Wall Euler R1 and IQ, Changan Mercedes-Benz E-star, BYD Yuan, E1, E2, E3 and so on.

The activities will be held in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, Haikou City, Hainan Province, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, and Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province.

In addition, the document also stressed that one of the requirements for the promotion of this event is to focus on promoting the advantages of green, intelligent, safe, low cost, good driving experience, convenient maintenance, and rich configuration options for new energy vehicles, so as to create a good public opinion environment for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles.

In response to this matter, the China Automobile Association told the media that after the three departments issued the notice of "carrying out activities for new energy vehicles to the countryside" today, a number of car companies participating in this activity have formulated corresponding measures, with preferential policies for models going to the countryside ranging from 2000 yuan to 5000 yuan, with a maximum of 8000 yuan.

The promotion of new energy vehicles to the countryside has caused some controversy on the Internet. Whether low-end new energy vehicles are suitable for rural areas remains to be further verified.
