In early July, the owner of a Lexus car in Hefei and Anhui province spontaneously ignited after using a new car for less than a month, and the incident that there was no way to protect his rights eventually attracted a lot of attention on the Internet. But some time has passed, the Lexus spontaneous combustion incident has not yet been satisfactorily resolved, and even denied in the 4S store that the vehicle was caused by quality problems.

According to media reports, the owner of the car, Mr. Zhou, signed a contract with the salesman at the Weigan Lexus 4S store in Baohe District, Hefei on April 4 this year, agreeing to buy the Lexus ES200 premium model. According to the price agreed in the contract at that time, the guiding price of the car was 290000 yuan.

During the car purchase period, the store asked to install an additional 10,000 yuan decoration to withdraw the car, including the whole car film, 360 °panoramic images, electric rear doors, two suitcases and key chains. At the same time, when dealing with vehicle loans, the store charges 2000 yuan for comprehensive services and 6000 yuan for financial services, with a cumulative fee of 18000 yuan.

I thought it was a satisfactory car purchase experience, but after using the car for only 23 days, the vehicle spontaneously ignited at 02:10 on May 2. According to Mr. Zhou, he drove out on the evening of May 2 and went upstairs when he got home at 02:09 in the morning. As soon as he went upstairs, he heard the vehicle alarm, then went downstairs to check and found that there seemed to be an open fire in the car. After opening the door, he found that the co-driver was burning. Mr. Zhou immediately dialed 119 and found a fire extinguisher in the corridor to put out the fire.

Before the fire brigade arrived, the fire in Mr. Zhou's Lexus ES200 had been put out, but the interior of the vehicle had been burned beyond recognition and the appearance was all right.

On the same day, the Sanxiaokou Fire Rescue Station issued an "alarm certificate" to the car owner, which was called spontaneous combustion and was not caused by man. As for the certificate, Mr. Zhou also explained that the official seal was not affixed to the alarm certificate on that day, because only a formal fire accident identification letter was issued, and a formal fire identification report could not be issued until the scene had been inspected and identified.

On May 8, Luyang District Fire Brigade, staff of Weiqian Lexus 4S store, representatives of Lexus manufacturers and car owner Mr. Zhou, went to the vehicle spontaneous combustion site to conduct the first inspection, and extracted including burnt fuses and fuse box covers.

On 13 and 20 May, the Quartet and the Judicial expertise Center, which participated in the inspection for the first time, conducted the second and third inspections. For the second time, the spontaneous combustion vehicle was inspected by an automobile maintenance shop. In the third inspection, as many as 6 relevant physical evidence, including wire harness, were extracted.

After the accident, the 4S store did not propose an acceptable solution to it. Weiqian Lexus 4S store only claimed the car according to spontaneous combustion, but because the commercial insurance taken out by Mr. Zhou did not cover the indemnity of vehicle spontaneous combustion insurance, the proposal of the 4S store rejected by Mr. Zhou.

After more than two months of fruitless negotiations, Mr. Zhou had no choice but to tow the vehicle to the door of the Weigan Lexus 4S store to safeguard his rights. it is reported that during this period, the car owner also clashed with the staff of the 4S store, and the general manager of the 4S store led the staff to "rip off all the banners and block the car." From the pictures taken, it can be seen that the Lexus involved has been blocked by three cars on the side of the road.

Until recently, Mr. Zhou said that when he got the official fire identification report, the appraisal report gave a direct loss of 140000 yuan from the fire to the vehicle. Weiqian Lexus 4S store first put forward the maintenance plan, but after being rejected, Mr. Zhou put forward the replacement plan, but Mr. Zhou thought that what he lost was the price of the whole car, that is, the purchase fee, purchase tax, insurance, as well as late work fee, car rental fee, and mental loss fee of about 370000 yuan. Due to the great difference in negotiation conditions between the two sides, they could not reach an agreement.

For Mr. Zhou's experience, it is really a bit chilling, not to mention whether Lexus, which has won the favor of consumers by quality, really has a quality problem in this "spontaneous combustion" incident. However, the perfunctory approach of Lexus dealers and manufacturers and the attitude of Weiqian 4S store undoubtedly sounded the alarm for Lexus. As a luxury brand, should we at least give consumers a luxurious service?
