According to sources, the main investors of Xiaopeng are Aspex, Coatue, Hillhouse Capital and Sequoia Capital China, while the amount of financing will be mainly used for new car research and development, marketing channel expansion and self-driving software development.

Judging from Xiaopeng's financing performance, it has obtained 400 million yuan of C-round financing in November last year, and introduced a new strategic investment in Xiaomi Group. After this round of financing is completed, Xiaopeng will be valued at as much as $4 billion (about 28.1 billion yuan). According to media statistics, Xiaopeng Motor has completed 10 rounds of financing since its establishment in 2014, including Alibaba, IDG Capital, Morningside Capital and CICC Capital, with a total financing of more than 16 billion yuan.

In the environment of the spread of the coronavirus this year, the global automobile market has been affected, and the capital market has cooled rapidly, resulting in the collapse of many new car-building forces one after another. Although Xiaopeng lagged behind Xilai and ideal in new car delivery in the first half of this year, figures show that Xiaopeng sold a total of 4698 cars in the first half of this year and 1123 in June. Among them, the second mass production model Xiaopeng P7 only 166 in the first month on the market, far less than the outside world expected.

According to previous news, Xiaopeng has submitted IPO documents to the US stock market and has hired investment banks such as JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, of which JPMorgan Chase is the lead underwriter. According to industry analysts, the move is intended to create momentum for overseas listings or financing. With the introduction of foreign investors, it also means that Xiaopeng Motor will speed up the pace of listing, while Xiaopeng Motor, which has completed C+ round financing, seems to be getting closer and closer to achieving IPO.

It is understood that NIO has been listed in the United States in September 2018, with a market capitalization of about 13.136 billion US dollars; and ideal Automobile also formally submitted its prospectus to SEC of the United States at the beginning of this month, and has been confirmed to be listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange on the evening of July 31, Beijing time, becoming the second new force of Chinese car-making listed after NIO Motor.
