AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/21 Report--

The outbreak of the epidemic in the first half of the year disrupted the pace of operation, and a number of car companies reported a decline in sales in the first half of the year. In the second half of the year, some car companies began to adjust their targets according to the sales situation. According to media reports, Dongfeng Yueda Kia has lowered its annual sales target.

At the beginning of this year, Dongfeng Yueda Kia said it would achieve its 10 per cent growth target by 2020 (sales were 289000 in 2019 and 10 per cent in 2020, that is, 317900), but due to the significant impact of the epidemic on the auto industry at the beginning of the year, Dongfeng Yueda Kia decided to lower its annual sales target from 317900 to 270000.

According to the latest figures, Dongfeng Yueda Kia sold 113000 vehicles in the first half of this year, reaching 41.8 per cent of its annual sales target. Although the car market is still full of uncertainties in the second half of the year, if growth continues in the second half of the year, the annual sales target is still likely to be achieved.

It is understood that at this year's Chengdu Auto Show, Dongfeng Yueda Kaiku will be unveiled and will be officially listed in September. In terms of power, Kaiku will provide 1.5T and 2.0T power. Among them, 1.5T engine matches 7DCT gearbox with maximum power of 170hp and maximum torque of 253Nm, while 2.0T engine matches 8AT gearbox with maximum power of 240hp and maximum torque of 353Nm.

According to the data, Kia K5 sales peaked at 56200 in 2013, but as competition intensified, Kia K5 only had about 2200 vehicles left in 2019, gradually disappearing from the stage of mainstream B-class cars. After the launch of the third generation K5, it will compete with Maiteng, Passat, Accord, Camry and other models. As for these B-class cars, whether Kaiku can win remains to be tested by the market.
