Dongfeng Honda planned two new domestic models in 2020, one is the Civic hatchback version, and the other is officially called the "entry-level hatchback". From the latest declaration information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the mysterious model of Dongfeng Honda has finally been revealed.

According to the declaration chart of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Dongfeng Honda's brand-new small car, named "LIFE", is basically similar to Guangzhou Auto Honda's flying shape, and also offers both CROSS and ordinary versions. The car can also be regarded as a sister model of Guangzhou Auto Honda's flying car.

It is a pity that the Dongfeng Honda LIFE continues the localization design of the domestic brand-new flying degree, and the front-to-middle net of the ordinary version of the model is unique to China, and there is no overseas design style caused by the original version.

In terms of appearance, the new car uses Honda's latest design language, which is basically the same as the new flying degree, while some of the surrounding designs below are different. In terms of details, the new car uses a black headlight group and a circular LED daytime driving lamp inside. The crossover version does not change much compared with the overseas version, adding more cross-border style kits, including black plastic wheel eyebrows, front and rear bumper panels and roof luggage racks.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4109/1694/1537mm, wheelbase 2530mm; cross-border version is 4111/1725/1567mm, wheelbase 2531mm. The transparent taillight cover at the tail is the most obvious design that distinguishes Dongfeng Honda LIFE from Guangzhou Auto Honda.

As a reference for power, Guangzhou Auto Honda's new flying degree is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine codenamed L15BU, with a maximum power of 131hp (96kW) and a peak torque of 155Nm. The traditional system matches the CVT gearbox and meets the national 6 emission standard.

Dongfeng Honda LIFE is positioned as a small car, which will form the product line layout of Dongfeng Honda car together with Civic, shared Domain and INSPIRE in the future, and LIFE is also an important measure for Honda to implement a two-car strategy in China.

According to the new car plan, the hatchback version of Dongfeng Honda Civic will be launched within July, while Dongfeng Honda LIFE is expected to be listed within this year.

According to sales data released by Honda China, Dongfeng Honda sold 70776 vehicles in June, down 14.8% from a year earlier, and accumulated 296975 vehicles in the first half, down 18.6% from a year earlier. Dongfeng Honda has not yet achieved regular sales as the market continues to pick up. Among them, the Civic sold more than 20,000 units for two consecutive months in May and June. From the point of view of product layout, the localization of Civic hatchback version plays an important role in the breakthrough of Civic's overall sales, while LIFE will strengthen Dongfeng Honda's layout in the small car market.
