AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/22 Report--
Recently, a notice letter to Geely Brand Public Relations Department to stop infringement immediately attracted attention. AVIC accused Geely of using the image of "Yun 20" military large transport plane without authorization. After communication, Geely once again committed violations, and AVIC asked Geely to delete the infringement content and apologize. After the incident continued to ferment online, Geely issued an official statement on July 22nd to respond.
Geely said in an official statement that the image of the big plane referred to in the recent media reports about Geely Motor and AVIC's "Yun 20" is not "Yun 20". An advertising company has undertaken to produce a publicity video with the image of a large aircraft as the loading background. the large aircraft material involved in the film is not a "Yun 20" aircraft, which is a genuine image copyright material purchased through formal channels, which belongs to the scope of legitimate copyright use.
In addition, Geely did not deny that it had released promotional content related to Yun 20, but Geely said the reason for the misunderstanding was the official use of "netizen content" to retweet.
Geely said that the online connection between Geely Haoyue and Yun 20 is not an official act of Geely. However, Geely apologized for using netizens' content on Wechat, Weibo, Jinri Toutiao and other platforms, causing a misunderstanding between Geely Haoyue and Yun 20. The deletion was carried out immediately after communicating with the AVIC Industrial and Cultural Center.
In order to prove the legitimate image copyright material purchased through formal channels, Geely also provided the media with a "copyright certificate" issued by Shanghai Jiaoyou Culture Communication Co., Ltd., confirming the "big plane image" used by Geely. The copyright material is in accordance with the format of copyright material and complies with the provisions of the picture quotation.
Event Review:
The AVIC found that in March and July this year, Geely used the image of the "Yun 20" military large transport plane and its trademark without authorization from the China Aviation Industry Corporation and the China Aviation Industry Culture Center in the advertising campaign of Geely Haoyue, and jointly with some self-media accounts to publish misleading content on various new media platforms, carrying out false publicity, infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of the Aviation Industry Group of China.
AVIC sent a letter to Geely Automobile Brand Public Relations Department: (1) immediately stop the dissemination of all infringing carriers and delete the contents of all carriers; (2) apologize to the aviation industry, clarify that there is no joint publicity relationship between Geely Haoyue brand and Yun 20, and release it on Geely's official media platform.
Screenshots circulated online show that Geely's official account mentioned "Yun-20" in its tweet in April, while Geely also used words such as "Yun-20 turned into a Haoyue".
On July 20, the Global Times verified with the relevant person in charge of the China Aviation Industry Culture Center that the company has paid a lot of manpower, time and energy costs since actively communicating with Geely in early April, and the losses caused by the negative impact are now being assessed. "if this incident enters the litigation stage, it should be the first intellectual property case of China's key military equipment."
Geely clarified in its official statement on July 22 that the propaganda was not a "Yun 20" aircraft and that the infringement involved was forwarded to netizens and had been deleted.
It is reported that after communication, the two sides have cleared up misunderstandings.
