Liu Changqing withdrew from the legal representative and chairman, and Qiu Xiandong took over. At the same time, FAW Pentium car Co., Ltd. withdrew from the list of investors.

In view of this situation, FAW Mazda has also been confirmed, which means that FAW Mazda officially left FAW cars and successfully settled in FAW Group, on a par with FAW Toyota, FAW Volkswagen and other companies.

According to the change information, FAW Mazda has changed from the original three-party shareholding to two parties. Previously, the stock ratio structure was 56% of FAW cars, 4% of FAW Group and 40% of Japan Mazda Co., Ltd. After the change of shareholders, China first Automobile Co., Ltd. will hold 60% of the shares, and Mazda Motor Co., Ltd. will own 40% of the shares.

On May 7 this year, when FAW Group announced that it would adjust FAW Mazda relations, it also said that it would set up a Mazda Division, which will be mainly responsible for FAW Mazda brand full value chain business operation. Yang Dayong, former Deputy General Manager of FAW Pentium car Co., Ltd., will be in charge of the business department.

To put it simply, the independent FAW Mazda is now a subsidiary of FAW Group, which stands shoulder to shoulder with FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Toyota, and is no longer a subsidiary of FAW Pentium car Co., Ltd. On the equity change, we can also see that Mazda still does not have much say, because there is no change in equity. In terms of management relationship, FAW Mazda belongs to an internal upgrade, which is at the same level as other joint venture brands.

In fact, FAW cars and Mazda are limited to technical cooperation and car sales, and the joint venture companies of the two sides do not have vehicle production business. FAW car was first put into production in Changchun FAW car factory by means of technical cooperation in 2003. In order to cooperate with the sales of Mazda 6, FAW and Mazda jointly established FAW Mazda Automobile sales Co., Ltd. in 2005, while FAW Mazda has always existed as a sales company, only responsible for selling cars, not responsible for building cars. the task of building cars will be handed over to FAW cars for OEM production.

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the Mazda brand and the 15th anniversary of the founding of FAW Mazda. Thanks to the strong recovery of the market, the cumulative sales of FAW Mazda reached 40379 in the first half of the year, an increase of 1.88% over the same period last year. However, it is worth noting that since FAW Mazda launched a new replacement Mazda 6 Atez model and CX-4 model this year, it has been frequently exposed with abnormal noise problems, and even put its next model at the top of the list of complaints for many months in a row, which undoubtedly affects Mazda's brand image.

At the same time, in recent years, Changan Mazda has been more abundant in new cars, covering a wider price range, and its sales have always exceeded that of FAW Mazda. Changan Mazda sold 56951 vehicles in the first half of the year, far more than FAW Mazda.

In the eyes of the outside world, the upgrading of FAW Mazda's management relationship within FAW Group is more aimed at allowing FAW Mazda to regain development opportunities and improve direct management rights.
