On July 23, the official of Ideal Automobile announced that since the official implementation of the subsidy policy for the promotion of new energy vehicles in 2020 (July 23,2020), it will bear a subsidy difference of 8500 yuan for car buyers, and the national unified retail price of Ideal ONE will remain unchanged at 328,000 yuan.

On April 23, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on improving the financial subsidy policy for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles. The notice proposes that the price of new energy passenger vehicles before subsidies must be less than 300,000 yuan (including 300,000 yuan). In order to encourage the development of new business models of "electricity exchange" and accelerate the promotion of new energy vehicles, vehicles with "electricity exchange mode" are not subject to this regulation. The transition period of the New Deal is from April 23,2020 to July 22,2020. After July 22, the new rules were officially implemented.

According to the data, Ideal Auto was founded in 2015 as a start-up company focusing on R & D and manufacturing of electric vehicles. It released its first extended-range SUV "Ideal ONE" in October 2018 and officially delivered to consumers in December 2019.

At present, the ideal car has only one ideal ONE model on sale, which was previously subsidized for 328,000 yuan. The car is an extended-range hybrid vehicle. Ideal ONE is equipped with a 1.2 T displacement three-cylinder range extender, which consumes gasoline only for power generation and does not directly drive the vehicle. The car is also equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 37.2kWh and a comprehensive NEDC range of 800km. In terms of power, the car is equipped with front and rear dual motors, with a maximum power of 326 and a peak torque of 530N·m.

This means that in the case of new energy subsidies falling, consumers spend the same amount of money on cars as they did not before. In short, the 8500 yuan promotion subsidy lost due to the decline of subsidies for new energy vehicles will be borne by ideal vehicles.

It is worth mentioning that the ideal ONE is slightly the same as Tesla's approach. Earlier, Tesla said on its official Weibo account that the Chinese-made Model 3 long-range rear-wheel drive version will remain priced at 344050 yuan after the end of the subsidy transition period on July 22.
