The activity of new energy vehicles going to the countryside was officially launched. On July 24, the launching ceremony of new energy vehicles going to the countryside jointly guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce was held in the West Coast New District of Qingdao City.

On July 15 this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments officially issued the Notice on Launching Activities of New Energy Vehicles Going to the Countryside. The main purpose of the activity is to promote the promotion and application of new energy vehicles in rural areas, guide the upgrading of rural residents 'travel modes, and assist rural construction and rural revitalization strategy.

According to the documents, the event will be held mainly in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, Haikou City, Hainan Province, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province and Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. In addition, the document also emphasizes that one of the requirements for the promotion of this activity is to focus on publicizing the advantages of green, intelligent, safe and low use cost, good driving experience, convenient maintenance and rich configuration options of new energy vehicles, so as to create a good public opinion environment for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles.

So far, more than 40 models of more than 20 enterprises have participated. Automobile enterprises include BAIC New Energy, Great Wall Motor, Wuling, Chery New Energy, BYD, etc., and the models promoted by manufacturers include new energy models such as BAIC New Energy EC3, Great Wall Euler R1 and IQ, Chang 'an Benben E-star, BYD Yuan, E1, E2, E3, etc.

The China Automobile Association said to the media that after the three departments issued the notice of "launching new energy vehicles to the countryside", a number of automobile enterprises participating in this activity have formulated corresponding measures, among which preferential policies for rural vehicles are mostly 2000 yuan to 5000 yuan, up to 8000 yuan.

Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that with the joint efforts of all parties, the development of new energy automobile industry in China has achieved remarkable results, the industrial system and supporting facilities have been gradually improved, and effective breakthroughs have been made in market, technology and products, leading and accelerating the electric transformation of global automobile industry. New energy vehicles have the advantages of green, intelligent and safe. The vast rural areas in China have obvious advantages in the construction of charging facilities. There is huge demand and potential for the development of new energy vehicles. However, due to factors such as poor consumption environment and poor circulation channels, the consumption potential of new energy vehicles for rural residents has not been effectively released. It is of great significance to carry out this activity in rural areas for smoothing the supply and demand cycle of new energy automobile market, promoting industrial development, guiding the upgrading of rural residents 'travel mode, and assisting the construction of beautiful villages and rural revitalization strategy.

Xin Guobin stressed that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments and local governments, will support the development of new energy vehicles to the countryside. At the same time, centering on the problems such as weak innovation ability, high vehicle cost and lagging infrastructure construction existing in industrial development, strengthen top-level design, strengthen promotion efforts, optimize policy environment, accelerate infrastructure construction of charging and replacement, strengthen research and development of key common technologies and platform integration technologies, and promote the development of new energy automobile industry to a new level with greater determination and strength.

Fu Yuwu, honorary president of China Automotive Engineering Society, said at a forum recently that 50,000 yuan is the price ceiling of rural automobile market, low-speed electric vehicles are popular in rural market, and such products should not be despised, rejected or even disgusted.

The promotion of new energy vehicles to the countryside has also caused some controversy on the Internet. Whether low-end new energy vehicles are suitable for rural areas remains to be further verified.

According to the data of China Automobile Association, from January to June, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 397,000 and 393,000 respectively, down 36.5% and 37.4% year-on-year respectively. At present, the market driving force of new energy vehicles is still insufficient.
