Geely, as the top seller of its own brand, finally ushered in its first pickup model-remote FX. A few days ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the latest issue of new car declaration information, Geely commercial vehicles under the long-distance brand pickup officially announced.

It is worth noting that the car is not a traditional pickup, the remote FX and Jilibo are the product of the same platform, and the chassis structure is a load-bearing body. To a certain extent, the car is a pick-up truck commercial vehicle from Boyue passenger car. Therefore, many netizens complain that the car is "irrelevant", or that it is an insincere product.

It is reported that Geely remote FX pickup truck will be released in August and will be officially launched in the third quarter. In October 2016, Geely Group's long-distance car brand was officially launched, which specializes in the production and sales of new energy and clean energy commercial vehicles.

Remote FX pickup trucks are very similar to Geely PRO in appearance details, including lamps, bumper parts, body waistline, suspended roof effect, etc., it can be said that the shape before the body D-pillar is highly similar to the Boyue PRO model. The long-range FX pickup truck uses a shield-shaped forward air grille, and the front face LOGO also uses a "remote" logo.

The difference is that the long-range FX pickup truck, as a commercial vehicle, has become a multi-purpose truck from the design of a pick-up truck behind the D-pillar of the body.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the remote FX pickup is 4905/1831/1713mm, the wheelbase is 2670mm, and the size of the freight car is 1125/1230/460mm. Depending on the configuration, the new car has 18-inch rims, front and rear parking radar, intelligent high-definition 360-degree follow-up 3D images, AEB safety collision warning system, full-speed ACC adaptive cruising and exterior decorations in different colors.

In terms of power, according to the declaration, the new car will be equipped with a 1.8T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 184hp (135kW) and meet the national six emission standards; the new car will report a fuel consumption of 8.5L per hundred kilometers and a top speed of 150km/h. In terms of transmission, as a reference, from the configuration of Geely Boyue PRO's 1.8T model, the new car may match a seven-speed double clutch transmission.

Geely seems to lack "sincerity" compared with the pickup models owned by Great Wall, another independent car company. At present, the Great Wall has built two major pick-up truck systems, Fengjun and Great Wall Gun. After the launch of the Great Wall Gun, the Great Wall pickup truck was quickly promoted to become the main sales force of the enterprise. From January to June this year, the cumulative sales of Great Wall pick-up trucks reached 95854, accounting for 24.26% of the total sales of Great Wall.

Geely's remote FX pickup, based on Boyue PRO, does not have the functional features of traditional pickups that consumers know, and is more the product of Geely's resource integration and control costs. Some netizens even said, "this car refreshes its understanding of pickups."

Geely Group launched Maple Leaf new energy brand, long-range pickup trucks and more new models, in order to accelerate the promotion of the group's product line and market segmentation, and save sales performance. Data show that Geely's total sales in June were 110129, up 21% from a year earlier. Geely's cumulative sales from January to June were 530000, down 19% from a year earlier, and 38% of its 1.41 million sales in the first half of the year. Geely said it had no plans to adjust its full-year target.
