AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/27 Report--
According to the news released by the car quality website, recently, the website has received a lot of complaints about Infiniti gearbox, mainly focused on QX60 2.5T models. Judging from the complaints from dozens of car owners, the problems with the Infiniti QX60 gearbox mainly focus on abnormal noise and jitter. Some car owners report that the gearbox assembly has been replaced two or three times, and after driving thousands of kilometers after replacing the new gearbox, the gearbox problem still exists.
According to a complaint from one owner, it bought the Infiniti QX60 in October 2015. after driving 7000 kilometers, the vehicle jitter occurred, and the 4S store tested that there was no problem. After that, the vehicle still shook and the manufacturer replied that there was no problem. It was not until the shift step of 65000 km that the manufacturer replaced the gearbox, the new gearbox at 75000 km showed vehicle jitter again, and the gearbox was replaced again at 78000 km. At present, the vehicle jitter has occurred in all three gearboxes, but the manufacturer replied that they were all normal.
Another car owner reported that he found a problem after picking up the car in December 2016, and the 4S store said it was normal power recovery. The car was driven until July 2019 when the first gearbox was replaced by maintenance personnel, and the second gearbox was replaced in April 2020. At present, there have been several abnormal noises, but it is difficult to obtain video evidence. In the future, the owner of the car will have to replace the gearbox at his own expense.
According to the relevant complaints of car owners, the abnormal noise of Infiniti QX60 gearbox mainly has the following performance: 1. The car will wobble constantly when the speed is lower than 20km; 2. When following or backing at low speed, the car body wobbles violently when the speed is controlled by brakes. When the speed is lower than the 60km acceleration, the engine speed suddenly falls to 1000rpm when the engine speed rises to 2000rpm, and the car body jitters strongly. When the speed is 2500~3000rpm, the vehicle will have a buzzing sense of resonance; 5. When the red light decelerates on the way to normal driving, the vehicle suddenly jitters violently, at this time the instrument panel red exclamation mark fault light is on, the vehicle can not drive normally.
In fact, shortly after Infiniti QX60 went public in 2014, it was exposed by several media because of quality problems with the CVT gearbox. The data show that the gearbox used by Infiniti QX60 is CVT stepless gearbox, the maximum power is 204kW and the peak torque is 334N.m. It is worth mentioning that Nissan Qijun, which carries the same brand CVT gearbox, is also complained by car owners: the gearbox also has problems such as abnormal noise, setback, jitter and so on.
Regarding the problem of Infiniti QX60 CVT gearbox, the media sent a letter to Infiniti, but so far, there has been no reply from the manufacturer.
For Infiniti QX60 gearbox failure, some automotive technical experts said that the QX60 model uses a total of two clutches in the CVT gearbox, but unlike DCT, the two clutches use a front and back arrangement, one for breaking the connection between the development motor and the motor, and one for disconnecting the motor and the CVT gearbox. If there is a problem with one of the clutches, it will lead to power interruption, skidding or abnormal noise.
With regard to the structure of the CVT gearbox, technical experts said that it can be found in the technical data of this gearbox that the part of the hydraulic torque converter is made into an electric motor. The absence of a torque converter means that the connection of the clutch is in a semi-rigid or rigid connection state, which may cause frustration in the process of clutch combination.
In other words, if it is an ordinary CVT gearbox, the motor itself should be a hydraulic torque converter, but because most of the vehicles complained about are hybrid models, the hydraulic torque converter is replaced by the motor, resulting in a flexible transmission that is not liquid. Moreover, this model uses a dry clutch, the wear resistance is poor, when bearing a large torque, it is easy to wear and burn, at the same time will cause abnormal noise, power interruption and other problems.
According to the statistics of the car quality network, the failure of the Infiniti QX60 gearbox broke out in July, of which 2014 was the most serious, followed by 2016, and 2018 also had small complaints, with the possibility of continuation of the failure. In addition, according to Infiniti's official website, 2020 Infiniti QX60 has been put on the market, and both models are 2.5T Hybrid models. From the announced parameters, the CVT gearbox is the same as in 2018, and the possibility of similar problems cannot be ruled out.
Data show that only 13000 Infiniti were insured in the first half of the year, down 34 per cent from a year earlier. As a high-end brand of Nissan, Infiniti has entered the Chinese market for a short time, but its domestic market performance and brand influence are disappointing. At present, while the gearbox failure broke out in the Infiniti QX60 model, the 2020 QX60 was officially launched recently. It is difficult to judge whether the model will have the same problem, but in view of the emergence of the current gearbox problem, it is expected to have a certain impact on the sales of QX60 models.
