According to the plan, the new car will have an annual production capacity of 150000 at the FAW-Volkswagen Foshan plant and is expected to go on sale in October this year. Although there is no big change in the side of the body, the new car is adjusted again on the size of the whole car. The length, width and height of the new car are 4296/1788/1471mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2631mm, which is 37 mm longer than the current model on sale. The width and height are reduced by 11 mm and 5 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is reduced by 6 mm. At the same time, the rim adopts a five-spoke style, and the waistline is slightly higher than the cash design.

As for the rear, the golf classic rear C-pillar shape is retained, and the design of the taillight is the biggest change. at the same time, the new car also places the English letter of the model in the middle of the tail. but this practice has become a popular design under Volkswagen models, but the bilateral quad exhaust below the rear is only a decoration.

For the new car, the biggest change is the interior, although the interior real car map has not been released, but the official said that the overall design of the domestic version and overseas version is almost exactly the same, through the previously released official chart shows that the eighth generation golf uses 10-inch full liquid crystal instrument + suspension central control design.

More disappointing is the power side, there was news that the new car is likely to carry Volkswagen's first 1.5T engine, but according to the filing information, the eighth generation of Golf will continue to carry 1.4T engine, maximum output power 110kW, is expected to match five-speed manual and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. However, it is believed that with the introduction of 1.5T engine, 1.5T engine can still be seen on domestic golf models in the future.

After 45 years of production and seven generations of evolution, golf models have reached sales of 35 million vehicles in the global market, which has undoubtedly become a classic model of Volkswagen, but according to the sales data of the first half of cash golf, only 38221 vehicles have been sold, down 62.47% from the same period last year. The decline in sales is very obvious, perhaps at this time the travel of the eighth generation golf is exactly what Volkswagen hopes to achieve a rebound in sales with new models.
