AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/31 Report--
On July 31st, Hyundai's new model, the Palisade, was officially launched in China. The new car is positioned higher than the fourth-generation Shengda. It will be sold in the Chinese market by import in the future, and three models will be launched. It is understood that the Palisade named "Paris", positioning medium and large SUV, based on the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept car to build, the whole vehicle into the latest modern design concept.
Paris adopts the latest family design in appearance, with a split headlamp and hexagonal intake grille of the same style as ix25. The dot matrix middle mesh and a large amount of chrome decoration are very similar to the new Tusheng and the fourth-generation Shengda. In terms of size, the new car is 4981/1976/1750mm in length, width and height, and 2900mm in wheelbase, which is at the same level as Anke Banner, Tuang and the explorer.
Paris is relatively simple in the interior design, the new car is decorated with a large area of leather and wood-grain panels, provides a 7-inch LCD meter and a 10.25-inch central control screen, and the central control area retains a large number of physical buttons. In terms of configuration, there will be pre-collision warning, lane departure warning, constant speed cruising and so on. The seat layout is available on 6-7-8, and it is expected that the domestic version will be available in 2-2-2 and 2-2-3 versions.
In terms of power, the Hyundai Paris introduced to the Chinese market is equipped with a 3.5LV6 naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 272hp, a peak torque of 330Nm, a transmission matching eight-speed manual self-integrated gearbox, and a four-wheel drive system in addition to the entry version.
Hyundai Paris is not a model with a long history. It was launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2018 and has gained good sales and reputation in the US market. However, for this new model, which is about to be launched in the Chinese market, netizens' recognition of the car is not high, it is "difficult to look directly at" in appearance, and it has certain advantages in power, but the price is not cheap. From the perspective of brand positioning, Parristi's competitors are mainly joint venture domestic models such as Ford explorers, Buick Anke, Volkswagen and so on. As for pricing, it is difficult to judge at present, but if the pricing is too high, it will certainly lose its competitive advantage. The introduction of domestic cars is of little significance to Hyundai.
Hyundai Motor, a Korean brand, has obviously fallen short of expectations in recent years. According to the latest data released by Hyundai Motor, cumulative sales fell 24.4% to 1607347 vehicles in the first half of this year, of which sales in South Korea's home market increased by 0.1% to 384613 vehicles. Overseas markets fell 29.8% to 1222734 vehicles; sales fell 7.4% to 27.647069 million yuan, while net profit fell 52.4% to 547058 yuan.
Thanks to the South Korean government's tax cuts and policies to encourage car consumption, Hyundai's sales in its home market have increased slightly, while there has still been a sharp decline in overseas markets, especially in China. Due to the sudden rise of independent brands and the decline in luxury brand prices, Hyundai has lost its cost-effective advantage, and its sales fell 9.4% to 716000 vehicles in 2019. Sales of Hyundai in Beijing fell 32.8% to 235237 vehicles in the first half of this year, significantly outperforming the market.
