In accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, and decided to recall a total of 249953 Buick GL8 luxury commercial vehicles and Buick brand-new generation GL8 vehicles from July 31, 2020, as follows:

Recall models:

(I) a total of 112108 Buick GL8 luxury business vehicles manufactured from September 28, 2016 to July 24, 2018 from 2017 to 2018;

(II) A total of 137845 Buick brand-new generation GL8 vehicles produced during the period from June 6, 2016 to October 11, 2018, from 2017 to 2019.

Reasons for recall:

Due to the fluctuation of the manufacturing process of the supplier, the vehicle within the scope of this recall may lead to the size deviation of the brake pipe joint, which in extreme cases may cause brake fluid leakage, brake pressure reduction, affect the vehicle braking performance, and there are hidden dangers.

Solution:

SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. will replace the brake tubes for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
