According to official sales figures released by NIO, a total of 3533 new cars were delivered in July, an increase of 322.1 per cent over the same period last year. And more than four times the number of deliveries in the same period last year, the second highest monthly delivery in history after June this year. Of these, 923 vehicles were delivered by the ES8, up 463 percent from the same period last year, while the ES6 was 2610, up 288 percent from the same period last year. So far this year, 17702 vehicles have been delivered, an increase of 111.3 percent over the same period last year.

Throughout July this year, the sales of NIO's models have surged year-on-year, which is undoubtedly a good trend for Lulai Motor. But if you take a closer look at its data, you can see that sales in July of this year are down 5% from 3740 in June, so there are also outsiders who think that Xilai has encountered a "bottleneck".

In response, its founder and chairman, CEO Li Binbiao, said that this was mainly affected by the mass production of the third model, EC6, and that the NIO Hefei plant had a five-day shutdown, resulting in limited production capacity of the original model and the impact of the flood on the supply chain.

In addition, June is the last month of the first half of the year for the automobile industry, and many auto companies will rush their performance this month, making the half-year performance data more eye-catching. The introduction of different sales strategies will also increase the purchasing power of consumers in the neat automobile market. On the contrary, July, as the first month of the second half of the year, is also the traditional off-season of the car market, so Lailai will naturally be affected by the off-peak season of the overall environment.

However, Li Bin also mentioned that thanks to strong demand from ES8 and ES6 and increasing orders from EC6, the growth of July orders for Xilai was at an all-time high, "so we believe that Ulay will be able to significantly increase production capacity to support higher deliveries in the third quarter of this year."

During this year's Chengdu International Auto Show, Xilai brought a new medium-sized pure electric SUV EC6 to the market, with a price range of 36.8-526000 yuan before the official guidance. Among them, the pre-subsidy price of the sports version of the EC6 with 70kWh battery pack is 368000, that of the performance version is 408000, and that of the signed version is 468000.

This may be a new model for Xilai Automobile, or it may be the model with which it will be used to mark Model Y. But from the outside, EC6 is actually a slippery version of ES6. Throughout the current Coupe SUV market, none of the models can help the brand to achieve significant improvement, so for the greater strategic significance of Xilai, EC6 is just a model that can supplement its overall sales and product line with lower development costs.

In fact, in terms of sales in recent months, the biggest increase was between March and May, and then remained at around 3,000 units, and it is possible that only two models are in a "bottleneck" period. Perhaps with the formal implementation and delivery of EC6, it may be possible to provide some help to its current "bottleneck", but it may also be minimal. After all, the current Coupe SUV field does not have a strong market performance, so if you want to let NIO achieve further sales improvement, it may need to usher in the arrival of its first car.
