With the news of the introduction of the Senna Sienna model has been basically confirmed, recently there is news that the new car will start production in September next year, the capacity is expected to exceed 100000 vehicles.

According to documents released by the Guangzhou Ecological and Environmental Bureau, Toyota Sena Sienna will be put into production on GAC Toyota's fourth production line and is expected to start operation in September 2021, while the planned production capacity of the new Sena will reach 102600. It means that the new Senna is expected to sell more than 100000 vehicles in the coming year. Of the current joint venture MPV models, only the Buick GL8 has achieved this performance.

According to the new car production plan, the new car will not be able to achieve the new domestic Toyota Senna Sienna until 2022 at the earliest, while another joint venture company, Guangzhou Auto Toyota, will also introduce the MPV model, forming a dual-car launch strategy.

The new Toyota Sienna was officially launched overseas in May. The new car is based on Toyota TNGA-K platform, with 2.5L hybrid power and optional all-wheel drive. In the future, it will be introduced by Guangzhou Auto Toyota and FAW Toyota respectively.

In terms of appearance, the new Sienna has changed greatly compared with the old model, the new car's headlamp shape is narrower and longer, the introduction of chrome strip decoration further extends the visual effect of the headlamp, while the huge grille below is quite recognizable. The lines of the new Sienna are more complex and changeable, and the new car's Bhand C columns are all painted in black.

On the tail side, the new Sienna has a flamboyant taillight group design, which even extends to the rear fender. As a hybrid, the new Sienna also uses a hidden exhaust styling.

Among the model parameters exposed this time, it can also be seen that there will be a 2-3mm gap in body size between Senna Sienna and overseas versions, but the wheelbase is exactly the same, and the body size of the new car has been greatly improved due to the fact that the new car is based on TNGA architecture.

The new car also launched a sports version, which is equipped with exaggerated heat sinks on both sides, while Chinanews.com also removed the horizontal trim of the ordinary model and replaced it with a honeycomb design and blackened rims.

In terms of interior, the new Sienna uses Toyota's family design, with a 9-inch floating touch screen and a 7-inch driving computer display.

On the power side, the new Sienna will share 2.5L hybrid system with RAV4 Rongfang / Hanlanda and other models, which consists of 2.5L Atkinson cycle naturally aspirated in-line four-cylinder engine, motor, battery pack and planetary gear E-CVT gearbox dedicated to the hybrid system, with a combined maximum power of 246hp and a front drive. The new car also offers E-Four e-four-wheel drive option.

Although it has been reported that Guangzhou Auto Toyota has invested about 5 billion yuan to expand the fourth production line with an area of 450000 square meters in Huangge Town, Guangzhou, and plans to implement a project to expand the capacity of 200000 new energy vehicles a year, there are also plans for the Sena Sienna model, which means that the production line is only one of Toyota's nominal expansion plans.

For the current domestic MPV market, whether it is big or small, but with the advent of Volkswagen prestige, Buick GL8 is still strong in the domestic high-end MPV market. Toyota House plans to produce more than 10 Senna Sienna vehicles, which shows that Toyota is full of confidence in Senna Sienna models.
