Sales of independent car companies in July, Geely Great Wall Changan double-digit growth

With the gradual recovery of the car market, a number of independent car companies also ushered in a pick-up in sales, and achieved year-on-year growth in July. At present, a number of independent car companies have announced car sales in July, with Geely and Great Wall, as leading companies, showing double-digit growth.

Geely: achieve 45% of the sales target

Geely's sales report showed that new car sales in July were 105218, up about 15% from a year earlier, with cumulative sales of 6.35664 billion from January to July, down about 14% from a year earlier. Geely has achieved 45% of its annual sales target of 1.41 million vehicles and is still under pressure in the second half of the year.

In mid-July, Geely sold 35600 cars, of which Dihao accounted for 17000; SUV sold 66400, of which Bo Yue and Bo Yue PRO accounted for 16900, while ICON sold 3749 in July. At the end of June, Geely Haoyue medium-sized SUV went public with a price of 10.36-139600, further expanding Geely's product lineup.

In addition, Lecker sold 15300 cars in July, up 78 per cent from a year earlier. At present, Lecker has four models: 01, 02, 03 and 05, and 06 small SUV will be on the market this year.

As the domestic market enters the stage of stock competition, Geely's road to expansion is also hindered. Geely had proposed to achieve its target of selling 2 million vehicles a year by 2020, but it has now shrunk to 1.41 million, and there is also a big challenge to whether it can achieve the target by the end of the year.

The Great Wall: up 30%

KuaiBao released its sales volume on Aug. 9, showing that it sold 78339 cars in July, up 29.79% from a year earlier, including 47500 Harvard brands and 20, 000 Great Wall pick-up trucks. At present, pick-up trucks have become the main growth driver of Great Wall Motor.

Judging from the four major product lines, the Harvard brand still faces a test, with a cumulative decline of 22% from January to July. With the launch of the new Hover H6 in the second half of the year, the brand is expected to reverse the decline in sales. Pick-up trucks have become an important growth point of Great Wall Motors, and the monthly sales of Great Wall gunners have reached the level of 10,000 units since they were listed.

While the sales of high-end brand WEY and new energy brand Euler account for relatively low, the cumulative decline is also larger. However, with the launch of the Euler cat series, the brand exposure rate increased significantly, and the year-on-year sales rose in July.

Not long ago, the third generation of Great Wall brand-new platform products Harvard H6, Harvard Dog, WEY Tank 300, Euler Cat were unveiled, and new cars will be launched one after another in the future.

From January to July, the cumulative sales of Great Wall cars were 473436, down 14.53 per cent from the same period last year and reaching the annual target of 1.02 million vehicles.

Changan brand rose sharply in July.

Changan auto officials said Changan sold 123548 Chinese-branded cars in July, up 49.9% from a year earlier. It was mainly driven by sales of CS75 PLUS and UNI-T models.

The new compact SUV UNI-T went on sale in June and sales rose to 10, 000 in July, while CS75 sold 21358 in July and Changan Yigou sold 18735. Among the Changan Chinese brands, it also includes the sales data of 9993 Changan Auchan and 26069 Changan Kaicheng in July.

In addition, BYD sold 31382 vehicles in July, up 1.28% from a year earlier, growing for the first time since 2020, but BYD's sales of new energy vehicles have not stopped falling, selling 15000 vehicles in July. From January to July, BYD sold 190010 vehicles, down 26.65 per cent from a year earlier.

In terms of Shangqi passenger cars, its two major brands, Roewe and Mingjue, achieved sales of 51001 vehicles in July, down 2 per cent from a year earlier, with a cumulative sales of 292476 vehicles in the previous July, down 20 per cent from a year earlier. GAC MOTOR sold 28293 vehicles in July, and the cumulative sales from January to July were 166264, down 22.14% from a year earlier.

In the current automobile market environment, it is difficult for independent brands to increase their market share. The premium and product advantages of joint venture brands will be pressed step by step, and the competition situation of price reduction will be intensified, which also brings great pressure to independent brands under stock competition. Since the second quarter, a number of independent car companies have accelerated the launch of new products, and the gradual realization of monthly sales is a positive signal, but they are still under great pressure to achieve their annual targets in the second half of the year.
