AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/10 Report--
Since the successful acquisition of the Volvo brand by Geely, Volvo also launched its first domestic flagship car, the S90, in 2016, and maintained it as the best-selling car under the brand through the "price for volume" strategy. In order to maintain the competitiveness of its products, Volvo officially launched its new mid-term revamped S90 model tonight. The price ranges from 406900 yuan to 613900 yuan.
The new car, as a modified model, has not changed much in appearance. The new Volvo S90 uses the same design as the overseas version of the S90, and continues the old S90 design, only for the front grille and headlights. However, after this change, the new model has launched two different styles, one is the sports version and the other is the ordinary version.
Although the overall design of the new S90 in the front face has not changed much, the forward air grille of the ordinary model will still use the straight waterfall medium net shape, but the new car has been redesigned for headlights, coupled with the through-type chrome-plated front bumper. All let the whole vehicle vision get a certain "quality" improvement. The sports version uses a black dot matrix medium net shape.
On the side of the body, the lines on the back of the new car are more smooth and there is a shadow of slipping back. In addition, the window frame of the new car is also decorated with a lot of chrome, resulting in a luxurious texture. In terms of size, referring to the information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the length, width and height of the new car is 5090mm/1879mm/1450mm, the wheelbase is 3061mm, and the length of the body is longer than that of the old model 7mm.
On the rear side, the new car still uses a C-shaped LED taillight, but the internal structure of the taillight has been redesigned. In addition, in view of the mediation of the energy assembly, the old "T4" and "T5" signs have also been changed to "B4" and "B5", because one of the biggest highlights of this new car is the addition of a light mixed version.
In the interior part, the new car continues the design and layout of the current model, providing liquid crystal instruments, large-size central control LCD screen and three-frame multi-function steering wheel, and extensive use of leather and wood grain panel coverage, with a strong sense of high grade. It is worth mentioning that the new car is also equipped with a brand new crystal bar.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine with 48V light mixing system, there are also two kinds of adjustment, very high power is divided into 161kW and 204kW. Transmission system, matched with the engine is still Aixin 8AT gearbox.
Although the old model has become the main selling car, its T4 version of more than 100 horsepower has always been criticized by consumers as weak power, so the addition of 48V light hybrid system can not only improve the power level and reduce turbine hysteresis, but also greatly improve fuel economy.
In addition, there is another question that consumers pay attention to, that is, there is often a "resonance" in the previous model, but will it be "continued" in the new model? It also halved sales of the S90, which was only about 3000 in June, down 50.64% from a year earlier.
According to Volvo's public data, the brand sold 14379 vehicles in China in July, up 14% from a year earlier and achieving four consecutive months of double-digit growth. Volvo sold 79979 new cars in China in July, down 0.7 per cent from a year earlier.
