As another "heavyweight" model of Guangzhou Auto Honda, Haoying has exceeded 10,000 cars in just five months, which can be said to rely on the halo support of Toshimoto CR-V. The trend of continuous growth made the model win the champion of the domestic joint venture SUV with sales of 20, 000 in June. However, after experiencing the public opinion of Baoyan's collision test, Haoying seems to have begun to be affected to a certain extent.

According to the latest official figures from Guangzhou Auto Honda, Guangzhou Auto Honda sold a total of 71741 new cars in July, up 38.3% from a year earlier, not only outperforming the market but also setting an all-time high for July sales. As its main sales of four models, Accord, colorful Zhi, Haoying and Ling Pai have achieved sales of more than 10,000, which is a good performance for Honda or Haoying, which has just appeared on the market.

Although Guangzhou Auto Honda's July sales figures are far less than June's performance, it is worth noting that Haoying has become the most significant decline among Guangzhou Auto Honda's four main selling models, down 28.7% from the previous month. Accord, Colorado and Lingpai all achieved year-on-year growth, including Accord's cumulative sales of 20093 vehicles in July, up 9.2% from the same period last year; colorful Zhi's cumulative sales of 13488 vehicles in July, up 17% from the same period last year; and Lingpai's cumulative sales of 13568 vehicles in July, an increase of 13% over the same period last year. In addition to Ling faction to achieve year-on-year growth, Accord and colorful wisdom have declined month-on-month, but not as much as the decline of Haoying.

Judging from Honda Haoying's current monthly sales of more than 10,000, it is still in a good performance, even after it was exposed by China Insurance Research in early June that there were security risks in the A-pillar, it was still able to continue to sell well without the pressure of public opinion and became the top seller of the joint venture SUV in that month.

This seems to be similar to the previous performance of Volkswagen Passat after the crash test was completed by the China Insurance Research Institute, because in October last year, when the Passat was exposed to the front 25% bias crash test, the front part of the car collapsed seriously, the A-pillar was broken, and the main driving frame was obviously deformed, the airbag did not play a good protective role, and won a number of items rated as P (poor), but the sales volume of the model is still strong. It won the first place on the list of joint venture cars in October, November and December in 2019.

However, the good times did not last long, after a variety of public opinion pressure, Volkswagen also sought to "retest" Passat in the China Automobile Research C-NCAP and get excellent results, but Volkswagen Passat could not escape the trend of declining sales. From January to June, Passat has plummeted, with cumulative sales of 51921 vehicles, a year-on-year decline of 43.19%.

As we all know, like Passat, the safety of Honda Haoying has been greatly questioned in the 25% small-angle collision test of the China Insurance Research Institute. Although so far China Baoyan has not announced the final results of Haoying, but in the past about the Haoying collision test video and pictures, we can see that Haoying A column has obvious security risks. Even if the authorities delete a series of contents and give some explanations that cannot be "alternative", it does not affect consumers' judgment and perception of them. After all, in the current era of rapid car upgrading, safety has become one of the standards for consumers to measure models.

At present, the final performance of Honda Haoying has not been announced, but the decline in its sales not only reflects the current slightly weak state of the car market, but also has something to do with the security risks of its A-pillar. Perhaps Honda Haoying's sales will still change differently, but if car companies still can not give consumers enough confidence, it will undoubtedly hurt their own profits in the end.
