The first half of this year has ended, and the performance of domestic car companies fell short of expectations due to the impact of the epidemic, and the second half of the year is regarded as a critical period for car companies to launch a counterattack. According to the latest statistics of the Federation of passengers, domestic narrow passenger car sales increased by 7.9% to 1.599 million in July, while cumulative sales from January to July still fell by 18.5% to 9.311 million. In July, domestic narrow-sense passenger car sales continued to grow further in June, with the cumulative decline further narrowing. From the perspective of the industry pattern, the market is gradually concentrated to the head of mainstream car enterprises, and weak brands are facing elimination.

According to statistics, nearly 40 car companies sold less than 1,000 vehicles in July this year, of which 16 have no sales data, and the sales performance of the other 23 is not optimistic, and there are not a few car companies that sell about 100 vehicles.

Let's start with Bowo, which ranks 32nd. As a car brand born in the last century, Bowo once competed with the Mercedes-Benz brand for the world, and officially declared bankruptcy in 1960 due to poor management. BAIC Foton bought Bowo Automobile in 2014 and made it known as "German four brothers" for the performance of the last century. This marketing slogan also received a lot of popularity, and sales soared, but because the product power and technology could not keep up with the pace for a long time, in the end, BAIC Foton could not offset the loss and sold Bowo to Shenzhou excellent car. After the change of ownership, Shenzhou excellent car has developed a series of marketing publicity and marketing to significantly increase the brand exposure, but due to the continued unupdated products and low sales of its models, the Bowo brand has once again fallen into sales difficulties. Figures show that Bowo sold 557 cars in July and 5589 in 2020, a year-on-year decline of more than 80 percent.

Lifan, Cheetah, Zhongtai and Huatai sold 45, 18 and 0 cars respectively in July. In 2020, the four car companies still have a certain sense of existence in the market, but they are only limited to negative news such as wage arrears, suspension of production and even bankruptcy reorganization. Among them, Cheetah car factory was taken over by Geely Automobile, Zhongtai Automobile shares "wearing stars and hats" were trapped in the protection of employees' rights, Lifan Motor was heavily in debt and applied to the court for judicial restructuring, but Huatai Motor was not heard from.

Dongfeng Renault can be said to be the most famous car company in the rankings, with sales of 0 in July, down 86.5 per cent to 1382 in the previous July. Dongfeng Renault, which has been in a joint venture for six years, officially announced its dissolution and withdrawal in April this year, becoming the first joint venture car company to collapse in 2020.

In fact, most of the autonomous car companies whose sales have fallen sharply have collapsed with the decline of the overall market and the implementation of the sixth national emission. For example, BAIC Yinxiang, Speed Automobile, Dongfeng Yulong, Haima Motor, Mahayana Motor and so on, due to the rapid decline in sales, factory production stagnation, business operation encountered serious challenges.

In terms of new car-building forces, sales of zero-running cars, Aichi cars, Yundu cars, Guangzhou Auto NIO and specific speed cars remain in the doldrums. New energy vehicle sales continue to decline, with the Internet car-building slogan, crazy money-burning new car-building forces, also entered the knockout stage ahead of time.

According to the CAS statistics, there are 16 car companies that have no sales this year, including Zhongtai Automobile, Dongfeng Renault, Dongfeng Yulong, Xinte Automobile, FAW Haima, Jilin Automobile, Huatai Automobile, Zhidou Electric, Tianjin FAW, leading Motor, Kangdi Electric, Electric Motor, Jianghuai Volkswagen, Yongyuan Automobile, Space-time Electric and Jiangxi Isuzu.

Since 2020, the news of the shutdown and closure of weak brands continues to be heard. From the sales data, more than 10 car companies have no sales data, and the car companies with monthly sales of ten figures are on the verge of delisting, and the news of being acquired is also constantly coming out. In the environment of stock competition, brands without core technology and innovation consciousness are gradually merged or eliminated, which has become history.
