Recently, a group of Geely PREFACE new cars captured by the media on the road, a whole batch of new models are being loaded by a logistics vehicle, it is speculated that the new car will arrive at 4S stores across the country to prepare for the launch of the new car. The new car will come in black, silver, gray and turquoise with the official launch.

It is understood that Geely PREFACE (Chinese name Xingrui) is the first car built by the brand based on CMA architecture, the size is between Dihao GL and Borey, positioning compact models, the follow-up will focus on the high-end market, is expected to be listed in the second half of the year. In appearance, the new car styling highly restores the previous concept model design, in addition to the continuation of the current Geely car styling, but also integrates more new elements.

The front face uses a brand-new intake grille shape, the middle net is a straight waterfall chrome strip structure, the headlamp uses a matrix shape, and the daylight is a three-stage pulse design, which is highly similar to the Volvo S60.

On the side, the new car uses a more straight line design, the whole car not only tends to a calm design style, but also uses a slippery roof and waistline shape, so that the model retains a trace of movement. The length, width and height are only the size of 4785/1869/1469mm, but the wheelbase reaches 2800mm, which has a spatial advantage in the compact car level. The rear lamp group is penetrated by a chrome strip, which stretches the visual effect of the rear and highlights the design style of the wide-body coupe.

When it comes to the biggest highlight of the car, it is equipped with Volvo Drive-E series of 2.0TD direct injection turbocharged engine. The cylinder block is made of all-aluminum and uses a mid-cylinder direct injection, that is, the fuel nozzle is placed between the intake valve and the exhaust valve. Compared with the common side direct injection in the cylinder, the middle direct injection can make the fuel atomization better and improve the combustion efficiency.

At present, this engine has been used in many models, such as Volvo S60, Volvo S90, Lecker 03 and so on. Officially, the 2.0TD engine has a maximum power of 140kW (190hp) and a peak torque of 300Nm.

Although the model is only a compact model, but as Geely's first new model based on CMA architecture, it has reached the wheelbase of a medium-sized model, coupled with a 2.0T Volvo engine, the price must not be low, although Geely sales have become the largest domestic brand sales, but as for the future performance of the model market, it still needs to be determined by pricing.

Data show that in the first half of this year, Geely accumulated sales of 530400 vehicles, down 19% from the same period last year, lower than the overall decline in the domestic car market, the decline in sales was mainly affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
