Car advertising is generally relaxed and comfortable, with new car selling points as the core, but there is no lack of some advertisements to add a lot of creative content, in order to achieve the purpose of attracting consumers. However, a video released by BMW headquarters recently frightened netizens, and some lawyers even said that it was suspected of breaking the law if it was released in China.

If you are bold, you can click to watch the video: BMW Lingyi event.

The ad was posted by BMW headquarters on foreign platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Youtube's official BMW account, a week ago. After watching the commercial, many netizens said that "the video is frightening to death", "like watching a horror movie", "there is no one about this idea", and some netizens approve the idea of the video.

The background music of the whole video was spooky and frightening, when suddenly a scary-looking "ghost" in a white dress stopped the BMW, but when the ghost opened the door, she was scared away by the sight of no one in the car.

It turned out that the car was a BMW self-driving test car, and the words "self-driving test vehicle" appeared at the rear of the car. At the end of the video, there is nothing to be afraid of about the future driving mode.

In addition, BMW engineers were also startled by the "female ghost" when they checked the video on the car.

Obviously, the video went viral abroad, and some netizens reprinted it on domestic websites and Weibo, which also attracted attention.

Some media contacted BMW's Chinese customers, who said that BMW's vehicles sold in China could not be "driverless" and still needed to take the initiative to drive. As to whether the advertising film has been released in China, the staff member said he was not sure.

In response to the promotional video, a Shanghai lawyer analyzed that according to domestic laws, such advertisements have been suspected of violating Article 9, item 7, of the Advertising Law, and that item 8 stipulates that advertisements shall not contain "terrorist" content and should be removed from the shelves. However, if the advertising video is not an official channel into China, it should be counted as a foreign video, so it does not apply to the domestic advertising law.

Another lawyer also said that the advertisement must not be examined in China, and if the advertisement is not officially released by BMW, BMW will not be held responsible.

The scary video of self-driving was widely circulated in China two years ago, when a security guard in the parking lot was stunned by the "self-driving" BYD car and then scared away by the owner pretending to be a ghost. However, some netizens pointed out that the video was shot and promoted by BYD. What do you think?
