On August 23, Hongqi brand's most popular flagship model was officially launched. Hongqi H9, a medium and large sedan, launched a total of five models, with a new car price range of 30.98-539800 yuan, such as Audi A6L, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series and other models. It is understood that the H9 is the brand's seventh production car after new cars such as H5 and H7, which was officially released at the Great Hall of the people in Beijing on January 8.

H9 market positioning is higher than Red Flag H7, becoming the mass production flagship car under the brand. The new car uses a brand-new family design language, with a straight waterfall grille on the front face and LED matrix light sources on both sides. The design elements of the car are added to the side of the car body, and the hidden design technique is adopted for the door handle. The rear of the car is equipped with a red flag Chinese character logo, and the taillights are designed in a through-and-through design.

In terms of appearance, many netizens exclaimed that it was comparable to the "domestic Rolls-Royce". In terms of body size, H9 length, width and height are 5137/1904/1493mm and wheelbase 3060mm respectively.

The interior design of the new car is consistent with the appearance, the overall shape is more upright, the angle of the center console is vertically arranged, and is equipped with a full liquid crystal instrument and a central control screen. In addition, the new car is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel, which uses the red flag's latest LOGO in the center of the steering wheel. In terms of configuration, Red Flag H9 will be equipped with air suspension + CDC damping system, automatic parking, active braking, electric suction door, four-temperature zone air conditioning, BOSE audio, 253 color atmosphere lights and other configurations.

In terms of power, the Hongqi H9 is equipped with 2.0T, 2.5T and 3.0T engines, and the gearbox uses a seven-speed double clutch. Among them, 2.5T power is the official special version, 2.0T power maximum power is 252hp (185kW), peak torque is 380Nm, 3.0T is V6 mechanically supercharged engine, maximum power is 272hp (200kW), peak torque is 400Nm.

Red Flag brand is an independent high-end brand of FAW Group, with a total of 6 models on sale. Throughout the history of Red Flag, sales have been tepid until 2018, with sales of 25294 vehicles for the whole year since the launch of the new brand strategy in 2018, up 203% to 100016 in 2019.

For FAW Group, Red Flag has become the vanguard of its own brand. Red Flag brand sales rose 99 per cent to 17500 vehicles in July, and cumulative sales rose 108 per cent to 87500 vehicles from January to July. The listing of 43.75 per cent of Magi H9, which met its annual sales target of 200000 vehicles, added a strong player to the red flag brand, but the later market performance still needs to be tested.

At the 12th China Automobile Blue Book Forum, Xu Liuping, chairman of FAW Group, revealed the next sales target of the Red Flag brand. The new goal is a revised version of the target set at the beginning of the year. The Red Flag brand aims to sell 200000 vehicles this year. Next year, we will strive to double this year's target, 50-600000 vehicles in 2022 (the original target is 400000), and 70-800000 in 2025 (the original target is 600000). The target for 2030 is still being set (the original target is 80-1 million).
