The car was then wrapped in tarpaulins and pulled away by a trailer.

According to the media, the staff of the insurance company rushed to the scene after the incident, and then said that the car was an operating vehicle and did not have spontaneous combustion insurance, so the accident was not covered by insurance.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and GAC NE has not responded to the incident as of press time. However, local media reported that the fire brigade initially investigated the starting point of the fire as the car battery.

This is GAC NE's third car fire in the past three months. On May 18, a Guangzhou Automobile Aion S caught fire in a parking lot in Guangzhou carambola Park, resulting in a large amount of smoke and a small degree of explosion. After the fire was put out, the Aion S had only a "skeleton". In response to the incident, GAC NE officially responded that "the situation of spontaneous combustion is true, because the scene environment is more complex, and the specific cause of spontaneous combustion is under investigation." Gu Huinan, general manager of GAC NE, responded that "the preliminary judgment of the incident may be related to the 'disinfectant' in the trunk." Another accident occurred on Aug. 13, at an intersection of Pingshan Avenue in Shenzhen, a Guangzhou Automobile Aion S suddenly caught fire while waiting for the traffic light. The whole car was covered by the fire and smoke billowed from the scene. GAC has not yet announced or responded to the progress of the incident.

GAC NE has four models on sale: Aion LX, Aion S, Aion V and GE3 530. among them, Aion S is a sedan model, and the others are SUV. Although GAC NE has four models on sale, most of his sales are maintained by Aion S. According to the data, GAC NE's sales rose 46.59 per cent to 4993 in July, of which Aion S rose 8.19 per cent to 3683; from January to July, cumulative sales rose 75.47 per cent to 25155, of which Aion S rose 258.72 per cent to 21846.
