Subsequently, a "traffic accident identification letter" provided by netizens uncovered the suspicion of the accident. Liu went to a BYD 4S store in Beijing to test drive Han EV. At about 17: 35 on August 26, Liu was driving BYD Han from south to north along Wanfeng Road in Fengtai District, Beijing. A unilateral accident occurred in the central isolation zone, causing damage to the contact parts of the vehicle and no one was injured. In the end, the Beijing Traffic Administration determined that Liu, the test driver, took full responsibility for the accident.

According to media reports citing people familiar with the matter, the Han EV first drove from north to south on Wanfeng Road, then changed from south to north after making a U-turn at the intersection of Xiju South Street. Liu used the throttle as a brake, and the car suddenly accelerated into the next barrier, causing the accident.

After the accident, BYD also issued an official statement: the accident was caused by the customer's misoperation during the test drive, which was damaged on the left side after the test drive hit the central green belt of the road at high speed.

In addition, BYD officials also said that they will strengthen the management work: Han, as the most powerful car, we will further do a good job in the management guidance during the test drive, as well as the attention and reminders of the customer during the test drive.
