A few days ago, the list of the second batch of new energy vehicles going to the countryside was also officially confirmed, with a total of 36 models on the list, all of which are some low-end domestic pure electric vehicles.

According to the documents, since the launch of the activities of new energy vehicles going to the countryside, new energy vehicle manufacturers have attached great importance to and actively participated in the activities, actively transferred profits, so that rural consumers can enjoy benefits. Meanwhile, local governments have responded by issuing various preferential policies to encourage new energy vehicles to go to the countryside. Therefore, the Association conducted a comprehensive evaluation on the enterprises and models registered to participate in the activities of new energy vehicles going to the countryside from the aspects of enterprise popularity and sales volume of this year, and issued the list of enterprises and models of the second batch of new energy vehicles going to the countryside on the basis of the existing list of the first batch.

The list of the first batch of new energy vehicles going to the countryside includes Beiqi New Energy EC3, Great Wall Euler R1 and IQ, Chang 'an Benben E-star, BYD Yuan, E1, E2, E3 and other new energy vehicles.

The second batch of new energy vehicles to the countryside model list, 14 enterprises have a total of 36 models on the list. Including Wuling Hongguang electric vehicle, Baojun E300, BYD S2, Auchan Neo, X1EV, Kairui K60EV, Wilmaster EX5, SAIC Roewe Ei5, Reading i3, i5, Fengshen E70, Qichen e30, etc.

Previously, Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that with the joint efforts of all parties, the development of China's new energy automobile industry has achieved remarkable results, the industrial system and supporting facilities have been gradually improved, and effective breakthroughs have been made in the market, technology and products, leading and accelerating the electric transformation of the global automobile industry. New energy vehicles have the advantages of green, intelligent and safe. The vast rural areas in China have obvious advantages in the construction of charging facilities. There is huge demand and potential for the development of new energy vehicles. However, due to factors such as poor consumption environment and poor circulation channels, the consumption potential of new energy vehicles for rural residents has not been effectively released. It is of great significance to carry out this activity in rural areas for smoothing the supply and demand cycle of new energy automobile market, promoting industrial development, guiding the upgrading of rural residents 'travel mode, and assisting the construction of beautiful villages and rural revitalization strategy.

Xin Guobin stressed that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments and local governments, will support the development of new energy vehicles to the countryside. At the same time, centering on the problems such as weak innovation ability, high vehicle cost and lagging infrastructure construction existing in industrial development, strengthen top-level design, strengthen promotion efforts, optimize policy environment, accelerate infrastructure construction of charging and replacement, strengthen research and development of key common technologies and platform integration technologies, and promote the development of new energy automobile industry to a new level with greater determination and strength.

Fu Yuwu, honorary president of China Automotive Engineering Society, said at a forum recently that 50,000 yuan is the price ceiling of rural automobile market, low-speed electric vehicles are popular in rural market, and such products should not be despised, rejected or even disgusted.

The implementation of the promotion activities of new energy vehicles to the countryside has also caused some controversy on the Internet. New energy vehicles have certain advantages as commuters in cities, but whether the use of this type of vehicle is suitable for rural areas remains to be further verified.

According to the data of China Automobile Association, from January to July 2020, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 496,000 and 486,000 respectively, down 31.7% and 32.8% year-on-year respectively. It is uncertain whether one million vehicles can be reached this year.
