According to a message posted by Sina Weibo certified car blogger "evlook", some netizens said on the group chat that Tesla's domestic Model 3 model will be reduced on Friday, with the latest model equipped with iron lithium battery starting at 230000, the long-lasting version at 270000 yuan, and the four-wheel drive version at 340000 yuan and the high-performance version at 380000 yuan, respectively.

So far, Tesla has not made any reply to the news about the price reduction of domestic Model 3, while another certified electric car media, Electric State, also quoted this group of chat records as false news, and I am afraid the truth will not be finally confirmed until Friday.

For the Tesla brand, the price adjustment has always been "unexpected", and some car owners have suffered a price cut of more than 30, 000 a few days after buying a car, which is unacceptable to every consumer. After all, in just a few months after entering 2020, the price of domestic Model 3 has been constantly falling, from 370000 imported to 330000, 290000 domestic, and then to 270000 after subsidies, just like a "bear market" trend, making consumers somewhat helpless.

There is another reason for the possibility of price adjustment. According to previous reports, Ningde Times will provide lithium iron phosphate batteries for domestic Tesla Model 3 and domestic Tesla Model Y, valid from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022. It means that the lower-cost iron-lithium version will be on the market soon, and it has been reported in early May that the domestic Mdel 3 iron-lithium version has been declared, and the new car may be delivered in August or September.

With the installation of lithium iron phosphate battery, that is to say, the battery that accounts for the largest cost of the model has been made in China, which means that with the further reduction of battery costs and other parts, the price of the new car will be further reduced in the future. According to the plan, by July this year, the localization rate of domestic Model 3 parts will break through 50% and reach 100% by the end of the year. Previously, some industry insiders believed that the iron-lithium version of the model would reduce the cost of domestic Model 3 by more than 25%.

If Tesla's iron-lithium version of the model does not go down, it may conflict with the ternary lithium battery version, and at the same price, it may also encounter the previous "illegal reduction" of car owners' rights, carrying different chips without the owner's knowledge. But if Model 3 does cut prices, there may be another heated debate.

In any case, Tesla, who has frequently reduced the price, has made some consumers a little helpless, and has even been protected by many netizens, but after the price reduction, Tesla still cannot escape the law of "true fragrance". After all, at the current price for the same level of pure electric models, Tesla still has a lot of competitiveness.
