On the evening of September 12, Guangzhou Auto Acura's RDX A-spec sports version went on sale, launching a total of three models with a guided price range of 38.6-460000 yuan. The new car can be seen as a sports version of Acura RDX, which mainly adds a sports kit to the appearance to make the car look more sporty.

Guangzhou Auto Acura RDX A-Spec sports model is not much different from the ordinary model in appearance, it is still a diamond-type intake grille and divergent mid-net design. Different from the ordinary version, RDX A-Spec adds two colors: hot flame red and frosted gray, and the details are blackened. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4752/1926/1668mm and the wheelbase is 2750mm.

GAC Acura RDX A-Spec sports model as a whole continues to use the interior design of the ordinary version of the model, but made adjustments in the details. The new car interior adopts a brand-new color matching, using a mechanical pointer dashboard and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with panoramic images, front fog lights, daily traveling lights, luggage rack, parking radar, panoramic skylight and other configurations.

In terms of power, GAC Acura RDX A-Spec sports version is equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 265 horsepower and a peak torque of 380N ·m, which is matched by a 10-speed manual integrated gearbox. In addition, the new car is also equipped with SH-AWD full-time all-wheel drive system.

Acura, as a luxury brand under Honda, has shown that it is not satisfied with local water and soil in the Chinese market, and brand recognition is the biggest factor, and there is a lack of adequate publicity and brand image building. as a result, sales are at the bottom of the luxury brand market all the year round.

Since its localization in 2016, Acura has launched only three models, namely, the CDX, RDX and TLX-L, but the domestic sales of these three models can only be described as "miserable". Data show that GAC Acura sales fell 11.25% to 5852 vehicles from January to July 2020, of which CDX model sales fell 10.76% to 2877 and RDX sales fell 12.11% to 2962.

As one of the second-tier luxury brands, Acura has poor sales in China due to its late entry into the Chinese market and lack of marketing, while pursuing luxury while its product power and consumer service are not linked to luxury.
