According to foreign media reports, Volkswagen officially delivered its long-awaited first MEB-based model ID.3 to customers on Sept. 11. It was handed over by Volkswagen sales Director J ü rgenStackmann to Oliver Nicolai, a customer at the transparent factory in Dresden, Germany. It is understood that this model is the first equipment of the limited edition 1ST (30000 vehicles equipped with rich 58 kWh models).

With the delivery of the first car, it means that the new car will be delivered from Europe, and models from other regions will be delivered soon, including the domestic ID 3 model in China.

In fact, the delivery of the ID 3 model has been delayed. According to Volkswagen, ID.3 has received more than 30, 000 orders since it began pre-sale in May 2019, and the car was scheduled to go into production in November 2019 and be delivered in mid-2020. However, due to a variety of Bug caused mass production plans to be pushed again and again, and it was revealed that a large number of model production could not be delivered, waiting for BUG to solve, forcing Volkswagen to abandon the summer listing of ID.3 plans.

Now the model in Volkswagen's second promise will be delivered as scheduled, but the first batch of new cars delivered has not completely solved the Bug problem. In this regard, Volkswagen gave the first batch of car owners two options. One is to choose to deliver as soon as possible, but the software function will be lacking, and then give the car owner corresponding compensation. The second is to deliver the vehicle in the fourth quarter, when the vehicle will have complete software functions.

It is understood that Volkswagen ID.3 first opened the scheduled 1ST version and sold a total of 30, 000 vehicles, which were quickly booked because of the unusually hot. Some market participants optimistically estimate that Volkswagen's ID.3 sales in the European market may soar to more than 10, 000 units in September.

At the same time, in November last year, the Shanghai Volkswagen New Energy Plant also launched its first domestic ID3, which means that the Volkswagen ID.3 will be delivered not only overseas but also in the domestic market this summer. Moreover, Volkswagen unveiled its first electric model, the ID.3, at the Guangzhou Auto Show last year, but as delivery has just been completed in overseas markets, there is still some time for domestic models to be on the market.

As Volkswagen's first electric car, of course, it comes from the modular MEB architecture that Volkswagen spent a lot of money to build. In appearance, ID.3 uses the round design language of the ID family, and the front face uses a front-penetrating LED lamp group and a fully enclosed medium net, which will also be the first VW model to change its standard. The whole vehicle is positioned as a pure electric 5-door compact car with 4261/1809/1552mm in length, width and height and 2765mm in wheelbase.

The car interior decoration style is very simple, using the popular full liquid crystal instrument + central control screen design style, the central control screen size is 10 inches, the full liquid crystal instrument size is slightly smaller. The electronic lever is located on the right side of the dashboard, and the central control screen integrates navigation, multimedia, vehicle control and other functions.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 204hp motor with a peak torque of 310Nm and a maximum speed electronic speed limit at 160km/h. Depending on the size of the battery pack, the weight of the car will vary and there will be three battery sizes available in Europe: the 48kWh, 55kWh and 62kWhLTP standards have a range of 205,261 and 342 miles, respectively.

The ID.3 can be said to be a very important model for Volkswagen, which not only represents the first step in Volkswagen's transition to electrification, but will also help Volkswagen bring higher profits. According to Deiss, the cost of holding the ID.3 will be lower than that of fuel vehicles.
