After the BMW X1 mixed with the BMW 5-Series, brilliance officially released the third new energy vehicle in China. Brilliance BMW iX3 debuted in China on the evening of Sept. 13, with two new models, the leading version and the innovative version priced at 470000 yuan and 510000 yuan respectively. According to previous news, the pre-produced iX3 will be the first to be exported to other markets, while the Chinese market will be listed later.

The BMW iX3 is based on the BMW X3 design and retains the BMW family-style double-kidney grille, but its interior uses the mainstream closed design of electric vehicles, with a blue decorative frame to make it more in line with the identity of new energy vehicles. In addition, the front bumper uses a black through-type design, with a vertical air intake shape to highlight the sense of motion. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4700 × 1900 × 1675mm and the wheelbase is 2875mm.

Since it is based on the BMW X3 design, the interior design of the BMW iX3 is basically the same as the current X3, with a suspended central control screen, a full LCD dashboard and an electronic handle, and blue decorations are added to the details to show different identities.

In terms of power, the new car is initially equipped with a rear single motor with a maximum power of 286hp, a peak torque of 400N ·m, a battery pack of 74 kWh in Ningde era, and a comprehensive mileage 520km of NEDC.

Compared with Mercedes-Benz and Audi, BMW is relatively blank in the new energy SUV market segment. After all, Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-tron have already been mass-produced and listed, and the appearance of iX3 has propped up the process of BMW new energy SUV.

As a rival of the BMW iX3, the domestic Mercedes-Benz EQC costs 49.98-622800 yuan and the imported Audi e-tron costs 69.82-828600 yuan. Brilliance BMW iX3's pre-price is slightly lower than the above two models, but the final price has yet to be officially announced.

According to previous plans, BMW will continue to enrich its electrified product camp, increasing the number of electric models to 25 by 2023, more than half of which are pure electric models, two years ahead of schedule. BMW will produce a total of 7 million electric models in 2030, of which 2/3 will be pure electric models. In the face of China's huge new energy vehicle market, in addition to the BMW iX3, the beam car joint venture between BMW and Great Wall will also produce fuel versions and pure electric versions of MINI cars.
