The list of "worst" models excludes new energy models. However, judging from the worst list, there are still many brands that sell very little or far less than new energy models, whether in a strong luxury market or a joint venture brand market.

Among the worst car models in August, the least sold was the Peugeot 301 owned by Dongfeng Group. As an entry-level compact model, the price is not high, but because the market is once in the doldrums. Peugeot does not offer more discounts, so the car also looks low-equipped compared to more models of the same class, making potential consumers slightly less able to support sales.

It is worth noting that the Peugeot 301, the worst-selling model in August, has the same design as the second-ranked Citroen Elysee, which is basically the same model except for the details of the front and rear of the car. On the contrary, Elysee still has a certain degree of discount, so it is also true that the annual sales are higher than 301.

In addition, as Citroen and Peugeot, as French brands, are now being abandoned by the market, the market share once fell to less than 1%. In contrast, nearly 75 per cent of joint venture SUV models remain above a thousand monthly sales, so it is not the autonomous models shown on the sales list that sell better than joint ventures.

However, throughout the list, there are still many joint venture brand models, which, like the car field, belong to DPCA, which is owned by Dongfeng Group. It can be seen that the performance of French brands in China is not what it used to be. The worst-selling models in August this year basically come from the legal system, which has less and less brand effect, as well as individual models with slightly lower performance-to-price ratio.
