At present, China's new energy vehicle market has obviously picked up. According to the China Automobile Association, domestic sales of new energy vehicles rose 25.8 per cent in August from a year earlier to 109000, but cumulative sales fell 26.4 per cent to 596000 from January to August, and there is still a lot of uncertainty about whether they can return to the same level in the same period last year.

At present, the performance of the new forces of domestic car building in the market is obviously better than that of the same period last year. Among them, Xilai delivered 3965 new cars in August, an increase of 104.1 percent over the same period last year; ideal cars delivered 2711 new cars, a new high for the month; and Xiaopeng delivered 2619 new cars, an increase of 755.9 percent over the same period last year.

Evergrande's new energy "Hengchi", as one of the car-building brands, released six new cars in August this year. Hengchi 1, Hengchi 2, Hengchi 3, Hengchi 4, Hengchi 5, Hengchi 6 cover A to D class models, but the first electric car will not be mass produced until the second half of each year, under the background of Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan, Honda and other traditional car companies speeding up the layout of new energy vehicles. Evergrande will inevitably face greater competition.

At the semi-annual report conference, Evergrande Chief Financial Officer Pan Darong said that Evergrande Group is expected to invest a total of 29.4 billion yuan in the automotive business. It invested 14.7 billion yuan in 2019 and 3 billion yuan in the first half of 2020, mainly invested in equity acquisition, base construction, research and development, equipment and so on. It is expected to continue to invest 2.7 billion yuan in the second half of this year and 9 billion yuan in 2021, with a total investment of 11.7 billion yuan.
