In the evening of the same day, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. certified Weibo "Tesla Customer Support" issued an official statement confirming that the incident was caused by "low-level mistakes" and apologized.

The official said: "After thorough investigation, this is the maintenance staff mistakenly entered the similar vehicle identification number when replacing the on-board computer, resulting in a mismatch of information." We immediately corrected the mistake and took a series of measures to prevent such mistakes from happening again. We deeply apologize for the trouble caused to the two owners, and will maintain communication with them and actively assume corresponding responsibilities."
