JAC's new SUV will be launched during the Beijing auto show this month. At the time of its launch, the new car has been changed from "Jianghuai Jiayue X8" to "Jianghuai Sihao X8". At the same time, the new car has been replaced with a new LOGO and will not use the JAC LOGO.

"Sihao" brand is a new brand born under the joint venture between Jianghuai Automobile and Volkswagen Group, which has already created a small pure electric SUV based on Jianghuai iEV7S, named Sihao E20X. Due to poor sales and slow progress of new cars, the Sihao brand is not well known by consumers.

In June this year, Volkswagen Group officially announced that it would invest 1 billion euros to acquire a 50% stake in Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group holding Co., Ltd., the parent company of Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. at the same time, increase the stake in electric vehicle joint venture Jianghuai Volkswagen to 75%, obtain the management right of the joint venture company, and realize the change of enterprise management mode. Volkswagen also said that it will award 4-5 pure electric models to JAC Volkswagen in the future.

With the change of the equity of Jianghuai Automobile and Jianghuai Volkswagen, the enterprise management and product plan will also be changed. Judging from the use of the "Sihao" brand by JAC, it means that JAC Volkswagen may have basically abandoned the brand, and Sihao will also become a product line under JAC in the future.

Jianghuai Sihao X8 is basically the same as the previous Jiayue X8 released at the Chengdu Auto Show. In addition to the model name change, the new car LOGO also makes full use of Sihao LOGO. From the point of view of appearance, this car adopts the brand-new design language of Jianghuai Automobile, is equipped with large-size straight waterfall air intake grille, the shape of split headlights is long and narrow, and the lower air intake is surrounded by a wide black matte decoration board, and the overall front face presents an "X" shape. At the top of the front is Sihao LOGO, which cancels the original JAC LOGO.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4795/1870/1758mm, and the wheelbase is 2810mm. The rear shape of the car is quite fashionable, equipped with through-type taillights.

In terms of interior decoration, the Jianghuai Sihao X8 uses a combination of a mechanical dashboard and a small driving computer display screen, while the upper part of the center control is equipped with a 10.25-inch suspended central control screen. The new car cancels almost all physical buttons, and touch operation is also used in the air-conditioned control area. At the same time, the interior of the new car offers three seat layouts in 5-6-7.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 184 horsepower and a transmission system that may match a 6-speed manual / 6-speed dual clutch gearbox. News shows that the pre-sale price of the car is in the range of 90800 yuan to 136800 yuan.

In addition, at the 2020 Chengdu Auto Show, Jianghuai Automobile also released the "Sihao E40X" small SUV, a pure electric model based on the Jianghuai Jiayue X4. This move also further confirms the phenomenon that Sihao is devolved to Jianghuai Automobile, and Sihao will also become the main product of Jianghuai Automobile in the future.

Data show that in the first half of 2020, JAC's total sales were 209400, down 11.0% from the same period last year, of which passenger car sales were only 66800, down 29.8% from the same period last year. After Volkswagen takes a stake and uses the Sihao brand, Jianghuai Motors may make further efforts in the field of passenger cars.
