On September 22nd, FAW-Volkswagen Audi e-tron model officially came off the domestic line, becoming the seventh car series product for Audi brand to realize localization. The domestic Audi e-tron will be unveiled during the Beijing Auto Show. The new car will be located in a large pure electric SUV with a pure electric mileage of 465km. At the same time, the new car will be officially launched this year.

Audi's imported e-tron went on sale in November last year, with a subsidised price of 65.88-766800 yuan and NEDC mileage of 470km. Now after switching to domestic products, the price of new cars will further decline, which is expected to be reduced by about 100000 yuan compared with the imported version.

From the declaration information released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the domestic Audi e-tron is highly consistent with the imported version in appearance, and the front face uses a large-size medium net shape, with a headlamp group full of acute angles, which enhances the momentum of the front face. The design of the front enclosure does not change much in structure, but a matte silver decoration is added. The through taillight group is also used at the rear of the new car.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of domestic Audi e-tron are 4901mm/1935mm/1640mm, and the body height is higher than that of imported models (12mm).

The interior decoration will also be consistent, using Audi's latest design language, equipped with double LCD screens, and an air conditioning adjustment touch panel below the air conditioning outlet to enhance the sense of technology in the car. In addition, the domestic version of the model also uses a new style of sci-fi style electronic block handle.

In terms of power, the front and rear axles of the new car are equipped with an AC asynchronous motor, the maximum power of the front motor is 156 horsepower, the peak torque is 226 Nm, and the maximum power of the rear motor is 234 hp and the peak torque is 314 Nm, which is different from the power parameters of the imported model. The new car uses ternary lithium battery pack, its battery energy density is 142Wh/kg, the NEDC mileage of the car is 465km, while the imported version of NEDC currently on sale is 470km.

The competitive models of domestic Audi e-tron, including Xilai ES8 and Mercedes-Benz EQC, are both luxury medium and large pure electric SUV products.

The Audi brand has previously announced that it will accelerate its development in China and plans to launch seven more domestic models over the next five years, doubling sales in the Chinese market to 1.2 million vehicles by 2025. In 2020, in addition to the above-mentioned domestic Audi e-tron models, there will also be a new Audi A3 hatchback / hatchback model on the market.

Audi has fallen to third place in China, behind Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Audi sold 301817 vehicles in China in the first half of 2020, down 3.2% from a year earlier and lower than sales of Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Audi wants to enhance its status in China by strengthening localization, and the A7L, SAIC Audi's first model, will also be put on sale in 2020.
