Moreover, Porsche will continue to pay attention to the issue of localization, but so far no decision has been made on domestic production. First of all, Chinese customers who buy Porsche will prefer German-made sports cars; second, Porsche's overall production is small, Porsche factory capacity can meet market demand, and it is not cost-effective to build another factory.

In fact, the industry continues to pay attention to the domestic issue of Porsche, in addition to sales factors, there is also news of Porsche talking about domestic production in Hainan recently.

In August this year, an industry insider reported that "Porsche is talking about making China, and assembling and selling in Hainan Free Trade Zone is duty-free." He also revealed that it is possible to set up joint ventures with Chinese enterprises.

Another source pointed out that the construction of Hainan free trade port has entered a stage of full implementation this year, and preferential tax policies have attracted many foreign investors, which may be an important reason why Porsche has landed in Hainan.

At that time, Porsche's Chinese counterparts had already denied it. The secretary of seahorse car also replied to netizens' questions on the stock bar, saying: "at present, the company has no related matters." If there are related matters, the company will fulfill the obligation of information disclosure in accordance with the regulations. "

Porsche has been rumored to be home-made for many years, but so far there is no definite and substantive plan. With the change of the market, the development of enterprises, the increasingly fierce market competition and the trend of new energy vehicles, it is still unknown whether Porsche will restart its localization.

Volkswagen Group has two large joint ventures in China, and its partners are SAIC and FAW, so the industry believes that there is a better opportunity to discuss joint ventures and cooperation with these two companies.

As early as January 2019, the new CEO Deiss of Volkswagen Group met with Chen Hong, chairman of SAIC Group. In addition to discussing the SAIC Audi project, the two sides exchanged views on the domestic issue of Volkswagen's ultra-luxury brand Porsche.

Recently, foreign media and a number of domestic media reported that Audi plans to establish a second joint venture with FAW, Audi hopes to hold a 75% stake in the new joint venture, and the PPE high-end electric platform architecture will become the technical core of the new joint venture. It is worth noting that it is not known whether FAW Audi's new joint venture will produce Porsche electric vehicles in the pure electric vehicle project developed by PPE for Audi and Porsche.

For five years in a row, the Chinese market has become the largest single market of the Porsche brand in the world, with sales reaching record highs. Porsche delivered 86752 new cars in China in 2019, up 8 per cent from a year earlier and accounting for about 31 per cent of its global sales. Porsche's sales in China have increased slightly in recent months. Mr Yan said Porsche's orders remained at an all-time high in recent months and was confident that more vehicles would be handed over to customers in the final quarter of 2020.

According to Porsche's plan, the parallel drive mode of optimized internal combustion engine, plug-in hybrid and pure electric will be adopted in the next ten years. The launch of the all-electric sports car Taycan supports the strategic segment of Porsche's pure electric models, as well as the introduction of new derivative models of Taycan and the pure electric version of Macan.
