With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, many enterprises have entered the field of new energy vehicles on a large scale, including the birth of a number of new forces of Internet car-making, real estate car-making enterprises and so on. As the market is not as expected, new energy vehicles have also entered a continuous decline in sales, the industry has been reshuffled in advance, some new car brands have been forced to shut down without mass production, and only a few brands have stepped out of the predicament and gained market survival space. Recently, a number of new power brands have released sales figures for September, all of which have achieved a big increase in sales.
Among the new car brands, NIO is still in the leading position, with sales of 4708 vehicles in September, followed by ideal cars, Xiaopeng cars, Weimar cars and zero cars. The rest of the new car brands have not yet released specific sales figures, but there is not much market space left for them.
Even though the initial stage of mass production delivery is controversial, Xilai has now developed into a sales leader among independent new car brands. According to official data, 4708 units were delivered in September, a record monthly brand delivery and the seventh consecutive month of year-on-year growth; delivery in the third quarter totaled 12206 units, up 154.3 per cent from a year earlier.
The current product line includes ES8, ES6 and EC6 models. In September, ES8 delivered 1482 units, while ES6 and EC6 delivered a total of 3226 units. Another set of data is that the cumulative delivery volume of Xilai in the first three quarters of 2020 was 26375, up 113.7 per cent from a year earlier. Since the first delivery began in June 2018, Xilai has delivered a total of 58288 units.
NIO's earlier development was not smooth. Vehicle failure and spontaneous combustion affected market performance, the stock price plummeted to more than 1: 00 US dollars, financing problems, huge losses, layoffs and other troubles. In the end, NIO survived. This year, with the implementation of a number of financing projects and the subsequent credit of 10.4 billion yuan from six banks, the financial pressure should be greatly alleviated.
Ideal car is also a member of the new car-building brand, and only the ideal ONE model is sold at present. In September, ideal ONE delivered 3504 vehicles, up 29.3% from August; a total of 8660 vehicles were delivered in the third quarter, up 31.1% from the second quarter.
The mass production delivery of the ideal ONE is relatively late, and the delivery of the new car was officially completed at the end of last year, but the development momentum is better than Xiaopeng Automobile, Weimar Automobile and other new power brands. The difference is that the ideal ONE is an add-on plug-in hybrid SUV that claims no mileage anxiety.
As for the add-on technology used in the ideal ONE, Li Xiang explained that the add-on electric car must be series-connected and pure electric drive, first an electric car and then an added-program electric car. The ideal ONE range extender is a 1.2T three-cylinder gasoline engine system from Dongan Power. The power generated by the extended range system is first used to drive the motor to drive the vehicle, and the remaining power is given to the battery. To the outside world, the ideal ONE is more like a "semi-electric car and semi-fuel car" attribute.
At present, Tesla has built a large number of super charging piles to solve some drawbacks and problems in the use of electric vehicles, while NIO has built charging car services and power stations in order to solve the problems of charging and long-distance distances. the ideal car chooses add-program technology. From the perspective of sales volume, the ideal technical route and product strategy are still recognized by some consumers.
After Xilai and ideal car, Xiaopeng Automobile is the third new force of domestic car-making listed in the United States. With the delivery of Xiaopeng P7, Xiaopeng car sales also rose rapidly, with delivery of 3478 vehicles in September, an increase of 145 per cent over the same period last year, and total sales of 8578 vehicles in the third quarter, an increase of 266 per cent over the same period last year.
Xiaopeng P7 subsidized price of 22.99-349900 yuan, the launch of three versions, NEDC mileage according to the configuration is divided into 552km, 568km, 656km and 706km. Official figures show that the Xiaopeng P7 delivered 2573 units in September.
On September 28th, Xiaopeng New Automobile Factory officially settled in Guangzhou and planned to be completed and put into production by the end of 2022. At the same time, it received 4 billion yuan financing from the Administrative Committee of Guangzhou Development Zone. This is also the third production base of Xiaopeng Automobile. At present, Xiaopeng G3 is manufactured by Haima Automobile, and Xiaopeng P7 is produced by Zhaoqing factory.
He Xiaopeng, chairman of Xiaopeng Automobile, has said that he and Li Bin and Li Xiang are known as the "three bitterness", and the three new car-building brands also represent different product lines. On the other hand, Weimar, which is not very popular in the group, appears to be somewhat silent.
In September, Weimar announced that it had completed a total of 10 billion yuan in D-round financing, and is expected to land on Kechuang early next year. Official figures show that Weima sold 2107 vehicles in September, up 38.8% from a year earlier, while Weima sold 6200 vehicles in the third quarter, up 79.3% from a year earlier. At present, Weima has launched two SUV models, EX5 and EX6.
Zero-running cars, which are deeply cultivated in the small electric car market, sold 1050 units in September, exceeding 1,000 in a single month for the first time, and a cumulative sales of 2544 in the third quarter. At present, Zero has two pure electric models, S01 and T03.
In fact, after the blowout period of rapid development, the market heat of new energy vehicles has dropped sharply, and with the sharp reduction of subsidies, the industry has gradually developed in the direction of high quality and high endurance, leaving little market space for low-end backward enterprises. Some new car-building enterprises that have entered the bureau late need a lot of capital investment in order to get the opportunity to break the game.
Statistics show that there are nearly 40 new car-building forces in the country during the peak period, while only 8 have sales data this year. At present, the new brand pattern of domestic car building has basically taken shape, but in the eyes of the outside world, they still have to worry about whether they can survive. Li Bin once said that the probability of success in Ulai is still 51%. What is really difficult for car companies is not to live in the present, but to live in the future.
