AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/09 Report--
3/4 of 2020 has passed in a twinkling of an eye. According to the announcement of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, the domestic automobile market issued 25 recall notices in the third quarter, involving 21 brands, a total of 1.108 million defective vehicles were recalled, down 56.3% from the same period last year.
From the recall point of view, mainly concentrated in the airbag and electric fuel pump two major failures. The recall brands are mainly concentrated in Volvo, Buick and Chery, with Buick GL8 topping the list with 250000 single-model recalls and Chery Tiger 5X second with 200000 recalls. In addition, Great Wall Motor also recalled 71300 Great Wall guns because of a trailer hook problem.
A number of car companies recalled vehicles in the 1990s because of airbag problems.
Airbag defects have always been a hot issue on the recall list. In the first three quarters of this year, brands including Cheetah, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Subaru, Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi all launched recalls because of airbags. Among them, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Subaru all recalled because of carrying Takata airbags.
Several brands recalled 1990s models due to airbag problems. In the first three quarters of this year, brands including BMW, Toyota, Jaguar, Mitsubishi and Honda recalled a total of 17000 defective vehicles in China, all due to incomplete moistureproof measures for NADI gas generators with driver airbags. The recalled models were all produced between 1996 and 2000, of which a total of 16800 defective vehicles were recalled in the third quarter, covering ownership, joint ventures, imports and other types.
As the car companies recalled vehicles from 20 years ago, some netizens praised the recall measures, while others thought that "these cars have long been scrapped, and the recall is meaningless."
Fuel pump problems cause Japanese car companies to suffer
Affected by fuel pump failures produced by Japanese Denso companies, including Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and other Japanese brands, the failure will lead to the recall of nearly 5 million defective vehicles.
As far as the domestic market is concerned, Changan Mazda expanded the recall of 29134 Unksera and CX-8 on September 16, 2020 after recalling 77112 CX-5 vehicles on September 23, 2019.
In terms of other brands, GAC-Mitsubishi recalled 174519 Yige, Outlander and Jinxuan cars on April 10 this year; Toyota companies recalled 256644 imported and domestic models, including Toyota Hanlanda, Camry, Prado, Crown, Lexus IS, NX, RX, etc.; GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda respectively decided to recall 396149 and 378625 vehicles, a total of 774774 vehicles, covering almost all Honda models sold in China.
At present, Subaru, which launched the recall overseas, has not yet launched the recall in China, and FAW Mazda has not taken any action. In addition, the Japanese Denso company in addition to selling defective fuel pumps to Japanese brands, but also provided to Ford, so it does not rule out that Ford will also launch the relevant recall.
A total of 4.79 million vehicles have been recalled by Toyota, Honda and Subaru due to defective fuel pumps, CCTV Finance reported, citing Japanese media. From this point of view, the "fuel pump" defect recall may become the largest recall reason in China and even in the world in 2020.
For consumers, the sense of automobile science and technology, configuration, power performance, interior luxury, appearance design are important, but the most important thing is the car safety and quality issues, to a certain extent, related to the safety of car owners. Recall measures may be inevitable, but it is hoped that manufacturers will be able to strict production procedures to reduce the occurrence of defects.
