AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/15 Report--
As an important factor for consumers to consider when buying a car, the preservation rate of car value not only allows car owners to suffer less losses when buying a car, but also reflects the market recognition of the car to a certain extent. On October 15, the China Automobile Circulation Association and Jingzhen Evaluation jointly released a report on the value preservation rate of Chinese cars in September 2020, which shows that the value preservation rate of second-hand cars has generally increased.
In the preservation rate of luxury brands, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi ranked among TOP 5, with preservation rates of 67.6%, 61.0% and 61.6% respectively in September, but there is still a gap between these three brands and imported brands. In particular, Lexus, which insists on selling with imported cars, has a preservation rate of 82.6% in September, 15 points ahead of Mercedes-Benz and 21 points ahead of BMW and Audi.
In the research on the value preservation rate of mainstream models of the BBA brand, the one-year-old Mercedes-Benz GLC value preservation rate is 79.29%, while Audi Q5L is the lowest with 73.06%; the two-year-old BMW X3 has the highest value of 73.43% and the lowest Audi A6L; the three-year-old Mercedes-Benz GLC is the highest, and the lowest Audi A6L is 58.08%.
In the ranking of overseas brands' preservation rate, the three major Japanese brands Toyota, Honda and Nissan have three-year preservation rates of 77.3%, 74.7% and 64.6%, respectively. The report focuses on the Mazda brand, which has a three-year preservation rate of 64.0 per cent, while Unksera, Atez, CX-4 and CX-5 have strong preservation rates, especially Mazda CX-5, which has an one-year preservation rate of 77.81 per cent and a three-year preservation rate of 70.90 per cent.
In terms of independent brands, Lectra brand ranks first with a value preservation rate of 64.3%, temporarily leading Wuling brand by 62.9%. On the whole, the value preservation rate of LinkedIn, GAC MOTOR and Jianghuai brands has increased significantly, while among the Top 10 brands, only the Wuling brand has declined significantly, which reflects the change in user demand from "dual use of passengers and goods" to "multiplication".
New energy vehicles are regarded as one of the opportunities for independent brands to overtake at corners, and independent brands have surpassed them in some indicators. From the ranking of preservation rate, independent brands have exceeded the mainstream joint venture brands and only lagged behind BMW and Tesla luxury brands in terms of retention, pure electric mileage, value preservation and so on.
The so-called preservation rate refers to the ratio of the transaction price sold to the guidance price of a new car after a certain brand / model has been used for a period of time. It is mainly affected by many factors, such as vehicle age, mileage, car condition, brand awareness, market share, maintenance cost, season, region and market environment. It is an important index to measure the decline of vehicle value.
The preservation rate has increasingly become an important index for consumers to consider, and it is the embodiment of the comprehensive level of automobiles. The advantage of models with high preservation rate is to make consumers bear less economic losses caused by product devaluation, and it is also the embodiment of brand premium and product value. Therefore, the three-year value preservation rate of different models has a high reference value for consumers to purchase new cars.
