A few days ago, Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. authorized and entrusted Jixing Automobile sales Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, the recall plan was filed with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. It is decided to recall a total of 110 domestic Polar Star 2 first-release pure electric vehicles produced from December 25, 2019 to September 8, 2020 from October 16, 2020.

The reason for the recall is that there are internal logic problems in the power battery energy control module (BECM) software for some vehicles within the recall scope, which may cause the electronic control unit to be reset intermittently. When this happens, the high-pressure system will be disconnected, which may lead to the loss of power while the vehicle is running, and there is a hidden danger to safety.

In response to this problem, Star Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will upgrade the power battery energy control module software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.

According to previous foreign media reports, due to software errors, including Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands and other countries, users have reported that the Polestar 2 can not be driven due to problems, Volvo and its parent company Geely Holdings Group's electric vehicle maker Polestar will recall all the new Polestar 2 a total of 2200 vehicles.

Star Polestar, which was born in Shanghai in October 2017, is an independent high-performance electric brand of Volvo. According to Tianyanchao, Polar Polestar is 100% owned by Beichen Automobile (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., while Geely and Volvo each own 50% of Beichen Automobile, so it is a brand jointly owned by Volvo Automobile Group and Zhejiang Geely holding Group.

At present, Polar Polestar has two mass-produced products, Polestar 1 and Polestar 2. Among them, Polestar 2 is the first pure electric car owned by Polar Star, which is based on Volvo's CMA architecture, and is manufactured in Taizhou, China and sold in China, Europe and the United States. In power, Polestar 2 is equipped with front and rear double motors, the comprehensive maximum output power is 300kW (408PS), and the peak torque is 660N ·m.

Polestar 2 is built on the CMA architecture of Volvo cars, and it does have certain advantages in technology, safety and design. However, Polestar 2 issued a recall soon after it was delivered in mass production. It is not difficult to see that Polestar 2 does not seem to be as safe as expected. The sales level of the Star brand in the domestic market is general, so that Polestar, as a new brand, is under pressure.
