According to the owner's complaint information, the owner bought a Volkswagen Passat 2017 33OTSI Honorary version at the Rizhao SAIC Volkswagen Qantong 4S store at the end of March 2017.

During the rush hour of this year's National Day, on the normally driven highway, because of the quality defect of the vehicle gearbox, the gearbox suddenly failed and failed to put it into gear, which almost caused a major traffic accident in which the car was killed.

The car owner said that because he had more than ten years of driving experience and a clear head at the scene, he controlled the out-of-control vehicle and saved the lives of his family of four. Subsequently, the car owner called the Rizhao 4S store, and the other party suggested to find a nearby SAIC 4S to detect the fault, and the final test result was the electromechanical unit fault of the vehicle double clutch gearbox.

We learned from the relevant complaint platform that there was more than one similar case of the car owner, and many car owners also encountered damage to the electromechanical unit of the vehicle, resulting in an accident or nearly happening, and the car owners said the situation was very critical at that time. Another owner said that the vehicle in the process of driving a sudden setback, the upper right corner of the dashboard shows a small wrench, and there are only 2, 4, 6 gears, and a serious setback. Stop the car and turn it off and start the fire again, there will be no problem. But it wasn't long before the same problem came up again.

At the same time, as the vehicles are 17 models, many car owners' models have been insured, resulting in problems have to bear their own costs. In this regard, in the eyes of many car owners, this is obviously due to quality problems, why they still need to bear their own maintenance costs.

It is worth noting that SAIC Volkswagen, the electromechanical unit of the Passat transmission, has admitted this kind of fault before. In May 2017, SAIC-Volkswagen announced a recall plan. A total of 146 Passats manufactured from August 25, 2016 to November 4, 2016 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall is that due to the supplier's manufacturing reasons, the electromechanical unit in the gearbox may have electronic failure, resulting in the interruption of vehicle power output and safety risks. When the above situation occurs, the vehicle steering, braking and other functions will not be affected.

It is understood that the current complaints are 2017 models of the Passat 330 TSI Honorable version of the model, carrying the gearbox model for the wet DQ380. As the above-mentioned models are not within the scope of the previous recall, and the mechanical and electrical unit failure of the Passat still occurs after the recall, many car owners said they would give feedback to the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

Volkswagen brand as the highest-selling brand in China, its gearbox problems also exist in many of its models, even if the current Passat model has upgraded the gearbox, however, the abnormal noise, frustration and jitter of the gearbox are still the main problems that the complaint platform has encountered more complaints from car owners.
