According to videos released by the media earlier, a large number of Chery New Energy vehicles were parked inside a parking lot. Due to the bricks on the bottom of the vehicle, the front wheels of the new energy vehicles ran off the ground. At the same time, judging from the charging piles next to the license plates, they are connected to the new energy vehicles, indicating that the vehicles have been running empty for a long time.

As soon as the video spread, it attracted people's attention. after all, there is little such behavior about the "empty running" of vehicles except that they will appear in engineering test projects. In this regard, some industry car commentators and netizens speculated that this may be fraudulent compensation behavior.

According to a public announcement issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2019, about 30,000 new energy vehicles failed to pass the examination in 2017, and major producers and sales of new energy vehicles such as Chery Automobile were all subject to reduced subsidies in the schedule published in Fujian. Data show that more than half of Chery's 6406 "operating vehicles" will receive a subsidy of 229 million yuan because they do not meet the mileage of 20, 000 kilometers approved by the national regulatory platform, and the total number of declared vehicles is about 12631, with a pass rate of only 49.14%. But the amount of subsidy that it failed is as high as 243 million yuan.

In response to questions raised by netizens about subsidy fraud, Chery New Energy clarified through its official Weibo on the evening of October 16 that the video took place in a driving school and did not belong to Chery New Energy Company. In response, Chery New Energy said that according to the national new energy subsidy settlement system, subsidy mileage needs to have a GPS track, and "idling" is invalid data and will not be counted as subsidy mileage.

In fact, since the introduction of new energy subsidies, the topic of "fraudulent compensation" has never stopped. The dividend brought by the policy of the times can indeed give many car companies that want to develop more funds for R & D and production. However, on the road to subsidies, there are also many "speculators" who have acquired illegal wealth in various ways, and with the decline of subsidies and the introduction of stricter vetting regulations, it will be clear who is swimming naked.

The advantage of national subsidies is to further strengthen and accelerate the market competitiveness of the "domestic" new energy industry, but for car companies, they should take development as their own responsibility, and they will not live long by "subsidies" after all.
