According to CCTV Finance, citing Japanese media, Japan's largest supplier of car seat belts is suspected of tampering with data and a large number of products with safety risks may enter the market. Japan's Ministry of Land and Transport has asked car companies to prepare for a large-scale recall.

The report pointed out that the Japanese auto parts manufacturer "Japan Junsheng Safety Systems Company" has carried out "data tampering" on some seat belts that did not meet the standards in the strength test. In April, Japan discovered internal tampering with data as a result of internal reports, and the company is investigating product data over the past 20 years.

And these "substandard" products have also entered the Japanese car companies before. According to the report, the Ministry of Land and Transport predicted that 9 million seat belts in Japan alone may not be up to standard, involving about 2 million cars. Ten Japanese car companies, including Toyota, Honda and Nissan, all use the products provided by the company.

In response to this data tampering incident, Japan's Ministry of Land and Transport has asked Japan's Junsheng Company to submit an investigation report on violations and product safety as soon as possible, and has informed all car companies to prepare for a large-scale recall.

Seat belt is a device used to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, and it is also an important part for drivers to "protect their lives" in collision accidents. Japan's Junsheng said there were no confirmed cases of casualties caused by broken seat belts.

It is worth noting that Japan Junsheng Safety Systems Co., Ltd. is the largest domestic supplier of seat belts, with a market share of about 40%. The company, formerly known as the Takata Company of Japan, has previously caused a number of deaths and injuries around the world due to safety problems with defective airbags, and triggered a large-scale recall involving 100 million vehicles around the world. so far, the recall problem is still ongoing.

JSS, a subsidiary of Ningbo Junsheng Electronics, a Chinese auto parts supplier, funded the acquisition of global assets in Takata, Japan. It is understood that Junsheng Electronics acquired the main assets of Takata in addition to PSAN business (ammonium nitrate gas generator business).

Japanese auto parts companies and auto companies have frequent problems of "counterfeiting". In 2017, Kobe Steel in Japan was exposed that performance data such as the strength of aluminum products had been artificially tampered with, which was used by Toyota and many other Japanese car companies. Subaru admitted in 2017 that over the past 30 years, two of its factories had used unqualified inspectors to "fool" the inspection of new cars before they left the factory, recalling 255000 cars, while Subaru President Ji Yongtai bowed and apologized at a news conference. In July 2018, Nissan admitted that it had problems with "emissions" and "fuel consumption measurement fraud" at five factories in Japan, involving 19 models sold in Japan.

Due to the exposure of counterfeiting problems, Japanese parts giants and Japanese car companies fell into a large-scale recall. Due to quality defects, Japanese parts giants and Japanese car companies are also in trouble.

In the past two years, the Japanese auto parts giant Denso Company has caused vehicles to stall while driving due to defects in fuel pumps, which has affected a number of Japanese car companies. Toyota, Honda and Subaru alone have a total of 4.79 million vehicles that need to be recalled.
