A new generation of Toyota Henlanda models will be launched in China in 2021, and according to the plan, both Guangzhou Automobile Toyota and FAW Toyota will introduce the model at the same time to further realize Toyota's "two-car strategy" in the Chinese market. Recently, some media have exposed the factory body picture of FAW Toyota's new SUV, which is the "Halanda", which means it is getting closer and closer to the launch of the new car.

From the exposed picture of the new SUV body-in-white of the factory, the side shape of the new car is basically the same as that of the overseas version of the brand-new Hanlanda. FAW Toyota medium-sized SUV "Hanlanda" has an internal code name of 770B, or only a hybrid version, with a planned annual production capacity of nearly 50, 000 vehicles per year.

As early as March this year, a supplier internal document first exposed the FAW Toyota 770B project, which is the supply cooperation of the plastic tail door of the model, and the supplier directly referred to the brand new model as the FAW Toyota version of the "Halanda". This is also the first time that the FAW Toyota version of the "Halanda" is being confirmed and promoted.

According to the previous FAW-Toyota tender information and EIA documents, the FAW-Toyota version of the Hanlanda, code-named "770B", will launch a hybrid model with a planned annual production capacity of about 50,000 vehicles per year. As a reference, FAW Toyota RAV4 is a 2.5L double-engine model with A25B-FXS 2.5L in-line four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, twin motors and planetary gear E-CVT gearbox as the main components of the THS-II hybrid power system, in which the maximum engine power is 178hp, and the comprehensive maximum power of the system is 222hp. At the same time, hybrid models also have two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options.

Prior to this, FAW Toyota applied for registration of "Lu Ze" and "Lu Fang" two model naming trademarks, maybe the final naming of FAW Toyota "Hanlanda" will be one of the two. At present, FAW Toyota has two SUV models, including IZOA Yize and RAV4 Rongfang.

According to the previous official map and domestic Hanlanda real car map, the overall outline of the new generation of Hanlanda model still continues the classic shape of Hanlanda, with great adjustments in details and a strong style as a whole. The upper narrow and lower wide trapezoidal front grille is matched with a blackened middle net and flying wing chrome plating, which increases the recognition of the front face, and the design of the fog lamp area on both sides is also more slender than the current style.

In terms of vehicle details, the A-pillar adopts a blackened design, and the side shape is similar to that of the current Hanlanda. The tail uses a slender taillight group, the overall shape is more square. The interior of the new car has also taken on a new look, with a large liquid crystal display screen. Body size as a reference, the overseas version of the new Hanlanda length, width and height are 4950*1930*1727mm, wheelbase is 2850mm, compared with the current model, the length and wheelbase have increased 60mm.

The new Hanlanda is the fourth-generation product of the car line, based on Toyota's TNGA-K platform. The future domestic version will mainly push hybrid models, using a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and a combination of two motors.

FAW Toyota "Hanlanda" model production capacity of up to 50, 000 vehicles, together with Guangzhou Auto Toyota Henlanda capacity of 90, 000 vehicles, the total production capacity of the car in China will reach 140000 vehicles.

In terms of new car introduction, Toyota plans to further expand its product lineup to cover more market segments, including the new generation of Sienna (Senna) and the new generation of Harrier (Hailia) will be put into production in Guangzhou Auto Toyota and FAW Toyota respectively.

FAW Toyota's terminal retail sales reached 80578 vehicles in September, up 37.4 per cent from a year earlier, with cumulative sales of 547691 vehicles this year, up 2.9 per cent from the same period last year, according to FIFA data. FAW Toyota has a sales target of 770000 vehicles in 2020, which has been completed by 71.28% in the first three quarters. Due to policy and sales and other reasons, FAW Toyota Ruizhi, Crown, Prado, Lande Cool Luze have stopped production, but with the launch of a number of new subdivision models, FAW Toyota will have a new product line in the future.
