On October 27th, SAIC-Volkswagen ID.4X was officially put into production at SAIC-Volkswagen MEB plant, marking the official launch of ID pure electric model by Volkswagen brand in China.

Positioning pure electric compact SUV ID.4 based on Volkswagen MEB platform, NEDC integrated mileage 500km, Volkswagen Group's first pure electric SUV product, is expected to be officially launched in March next year. As a new model of Volkswagen ID family, SAIC-Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen will launch two versions at the same time in China, in which SAIC-Volkswagen is named ID.4X and FAW-Volkswagen is named ID.4 CROZZ.

According to SAIC-Volkswagen's previous vehicle declaration information in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, SAIC-Volkswagen version of the ID.4 model is similar to ID.4 and overseas models in overall design, but there are changes in details such as front and rear bumpers and wheels, and more colored side decoration panels will be provided to choose from.

The appearance of the ID.4X body is the same as that of the previous ID. For the first time, the models are basically the same, with closed front grille and hidden doors, lit Volkswagen LOGO and penetrating headlamps to highlight the sense of technology. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4612/1852/1640mm and the wheelbase is 2765mm.

The interior design is expected to be consistent with the overseas version of ID.4, the LED dashboard behind the steering wheel with the electronic shift mechanism on the right, equipped with suspended LCD display, center console entertainment control screen, mobile phone wireless charging storage grid and other devices.

In terms of power, the new car offers rear-wheel drive version and four-wheel drive version respectively, in which the rear-wheel drive version carries the maximum power of drive motor 150kw (204Ps) and peak torque 310N ·m. Four-wheel drive version of comprehensive power 225kw (310Ps), peak torque 450N ·m. The battery is equipped with ternary lithium-ion battery and the comprehensive mileage of NEDC is 500km.

Although Volkswagen brand sales performance in the domestic market has been dominant, but its share in the field of new energy vehicles is not high. In the Chinese market, the electrified models launched by Volkswagen Group are basically based on models derived from traditional car platforms. according to Volkswagen China data, the Volkswagen brand has launched seven new energy models. a total of 34190 new energy vehicles were delivered to consumers in the first three quarters of this year, compared with nearly 80, 000 sold by Tesla in the first three quarters of this year.
