On October 28th, Changan Automobile officially released the official picture of the second model of its UNI gravity series, and the new car was officially named UNI-K. As a mass production version of the Vision-V concept car, the car will be officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show next month and is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2021.

The new car uses a design technique similar to that of UNI-T in appearance, continuing the borderless forward grille design. Specifically, the front face uses an inverted trapezoidal grille, while the middle net design has the effect of scales. In addition, the new car also retains the split headlamp design, LED daytime driving lights shape narrow, so that the new car looks more sci-fi.

From the side point of view, the roof line is relatively straight, and the hidden door handle design is adopted. On the rear side, the new car uses a through taillight design, and provides a rear spoiler and two-sided four-way exhaust. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4865mm/1948mm/1700mm and wheelbase 2890mm respectively.

It is understood that the UNI-K will be powered by a BlueKing 2.0T engine to match the new Aixin 8AT gearbox. In addition, the new car will provide a four-wheel drive system for consumers to choose from.

The UNI gravity series is regarded as an important part of the high-end development of the brand by Changan Automobile. Its first product, UNI-T, was officially launched on June 21 this year, with an official guidance price between 11.39 yuan and 133900 yuan. In terms of power, it is equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T Blue Whale engines for consumers to choose from. With its novel design language and new Blue Whale Power, UNI-T has become a hot-selling model under Changan Automobile. Official figures show that UNI-T sales exceeded 10,000 for the third month in a row, with a total of 42042 vehicles sold since its launch.

At present, Changan Automobile has two passenger car brands, Changan and Auchan, and has a good momentum of development. Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, said that the Changan passenger car brand sought to develop upward, so it launched a series of high-end UNI products, hoping to try the shared operation of Changan resources with the help of the Auchan brand, so as to promote the brand partition in Changan Automobile and promote the high-end.

At present, the information about UNI-K is still very limited. As the second mass production model of UNI gravity series, the price of UNI-K is expected to be more than 180000 yuan. At present, Changan independent brand continues to develop upward, but the slightly higher price will also be squeezed by the joint venture brand. UNI-T can attract consumers through novel appearance and dynamic performance, while UNI-K must have stronger product strength and brand support if it wants to get consumer support.
