AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/31 Report--

With the release of relevant documents and the promotion of official publicity, the extended version of Toyota Corolla / Leiling has also confirmed that a new car will be released soon.

A few days ago, Guangzhou Auto Toyota announced that the new TNGA car will be released on November 7, and the new car is officially defined as "TNGA+1 and 2750m". According to all kinds of news, the car is likely to be an extended version of GAC Toyota Leiling, with a wheelbase of 2750, which is longer than the 2700 wheelbase of the ordinary version of Leiling, which is currently on sale.

This brand new compact sedan with long wheelbase is expected to be more than 4.7m in length and positioned as A +, higher than GAC Toyota Leiling and lower than Camry, which locates medium-sized cars, so it can fill GAC Toyota's product gap and further meet the needs of the market and consumers.

In addition, some media learned from the parts suppliers that FAW Toyota will also launch the extended version of the 12th generation Corolla. Therefore, the launch of the two A+ cars is also in line with Toyota's two-car strategy in China.

The main competitors of the Carola / Leiling extended version may be joint venture brands such as Honda Ling Pai and Volkswagen Suiteng. Honda Lingpai monthly sales of more than 10,000 units, Volkswagen Suiteng is more than 20,000 units, this product segment will also be the market that Toyota will compete for.

At present, the official information is limited, unable to confirm the market positioning and power layout of the car. It is reported that there is a good chance that the two new cars will also use a hybrid power system of 1.2T and 1.8L. Another source pointed out that Guangzhou Auto Toyota and FAW Toyota already have the ability to produce TNGA 1.5L naturally aspirated three-cylinder engines, and do not rule out the possibility that the new engine will be assembled on the new vehicle.

In addition to the extended version of this compact car, Toyota is also promoting a new generation of Hanlanda, a new generation of Sienna (Senna) and a new generation of Harrier (Haiya) in China. In the future, Guangzhou Auto Toyota and FAW Toyota will also have a more complete product line, covering mainstream cars, SUV and MPV products.
