Car logo LOGO is not only the image representative of an automobile brand, but also one of the most recognizable logos of the enterprise. For the tort of the car mark LOGO, there is no doubt that it is necessary to take up legal weapons for maintenance, but for some "porcelain-touching" demands, netizens will complain. Recently, Citroen competed with the Polar Star brand.

French carmaker Citroen has sued Polestar, a Swedish-based electric car brand, for allegedly using a similar boomerang trademark, according to media reports.

Citroen, a veteran French carmaker founded by Andre Citroen in 1919, is well known for its double-character logo LOGO, which is inspired by the zigzag double shape of herringbone gears. Citroen also has an upscale brand, DS, which also uses boomerang style.

Star brand is an electric car brand co-founded by Volvo Automobile Group and Geely Holdings Group. It is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, and its production bases are located in Chengdu and Taizhou, China. In July this year, the Star brand electric car began to enter the European market, and plans to sell in the French market.

From the star brand car logo LOGO, it is a combination of two boomerang.

If Citroen hadn't filed a lawsuit in a local court in France to attract attention, it would be hard to imagine a connection between the two brands' car logo LOGO.

Citroen, which opposes the use of herringbone-like graphic designs by Polar Star brands and has similarities with its own brand trademarks, filed the lawsuit as early as July 2019. Citroen believes that the other party has infringed on its trademark rights in France.

After more than a year of judgment, the court ruled that the polar star brand could not use the logo in France for at least six months and was fined 150000 euros (about 1.17 million yuan). As a result, the Polar Star brand, which has not yet been sold in France, has shut down its French website.

However, the ban is only a temporary ban that lasts for six months, so the Star brand still has a chance to return to the French market.

If you carefully compare the car logo LOGO of the two brands, many netizens think that there is a feeling of "touching porcelain". Netizen Route 66 said, "this is also called similarity, but there are not too many similarities in the world." Another netizen said, "Citroen is so boring. Are you kidding me?"

However, some netizens have pointed out that if you compare the diagonal boomerang of Citroen's DS brand, there will indeed be some similarities.

At present, Polar Polestar has two products, Polestar 1 and Polestar 2, of which Polestar 2 is the first model delivered on a large scale, which was officially delivered to European users in July this year. The injunction of the French court will affect the promotion and sales of the Star brand in the local French market.

In addition, the Star brand has also encountered some difficulties recently. The initial delivery of Polestar 2 was recalled due to a failure shutdown, involving power battery energy control module (BECM) software issues, inverter failures, and high voltage coolant heater (HVCH) issues. At present, Polar Star is trying to recall related vehicles.
